Draft at the brewery, Nashville, TN. Pitch black with a light tan head and excellent retention. Dark and thick with a creamy mouthfeel, but not too heavy. A bit of molasses flavor with a light boozy finish. Not bad, but not my preferred stout profile.

Bottle. Mostly clear gold body that puts up a generous white head. Light peppery citrus aroma. The flavor is slightly bitter, fruity, but really that's about it. Not bad, but this is average in a very competitive style.

Not bad, sweet without being cloy or syrupy, offering up notes of chocolate and almond, with a mild peanut butter undertone followed by char, molasses, coffee, and anise. Finishes dry and roasty, with a lingering bitterness accented by chocolate candy. Biggest issue is the texture: overcarbonated, with a spiky feel wrapped around a noticeable alcohol bite. Maybe age will help with the booziness, but the carbonation's going to keep being an issue.
