Bottle from Burg bieren. Deep brown color with a red hue. Dense beige head with reasonable retention. Aroma's: roasted, light sweet, light hops. Retronasal it's fruity, strange, a bit smoky?, herbal, bitterish. Flavor is moderate sweet, dark malts, just a hint of bitterness. Medium bodied. Finishes slightly dry, caramellish, hardly bitter. Nice beer, but no (black) IPA.

On tap @ In De Wildeman, sample size, shared with Markoijelena. Hazy yellow golden color. Dense white head with good lacing. Aroma’s: hops (herbal, resinous and flowery). Retronasal it’s fruity, light hoppy. Flavor is light bitter, fruity. Medium bodied. Finishes moderate bitter. Perhaps a new recipe, reading from older ratings? Better than expected anyway.

At Maakun’s. Bottle shared. Clear brown amber, with thin white head. Sweet malts, light sour grain, nutty, autumn leaves, tea, toast and raisans. Medium sweet, under medium bitter, light sourness. Medium body, dry bitter, light dusty. Low carbonation. Bit like an English bitter -- which I’m not a big fan of. --- Beer merged from original tick of Lammert's Amber on 18 Dec 2017 at 10:51 - Score: 6. Original review text: 2.9
