Description
Wachusett Brewing Company was founded by three Massachusetts college students obsessed with the brewing culture and an appreciation for craft beer during their adventures of biking, canoeing, and hiking around New England. Armed with a “we can do this” attitude, the three cast off from their careers in engineering and biology to pursue their passion to make great beer.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Grand Cru in Rhinebeck - 10/2/11

Aroma: The nose is mostly hoppy, some resin, grass, and pine notes, plus a little crackery malts
Appearance: This one pours a mostly clear dark orange color with a foamy and lacy white head
Flavor: The taste has some cracker and biscuit malts, to go along with the grass, pine, and resiny hops
Palate: The body is medium, the carbonation is soft,it has a sticky, resiny mouthfeel, and a long dry finish
Overall Impression: Overall, this is a pretty good DIPA. It may even be a little underrated based on the rest of the reviews I'm seeing. Honestly, it is fairly on style, and fairly well-made. I like this one. The resiny, sticky sweetness works pretty well for my palate.

Bottle at Craft Beer Co tasting, thanks to Leighton. It pours deep orange, with a thick off-white head. The nose is sweet tangerine, orange, mango, apricot, orange sherbet, leather and resin. The taste is orange, tangerine, mango, lemon pith, pine, resin, leather and alcohol warmth, with a bitter-sweet citrus finish. Medium body, fine carbonation and foamy mouth-feel. Tasty and easy drinking.

Bottle at 1st CBC Sunday Tasting. Pours a clear amber with a big, white head. Strong resinous pine aroma, some sweet toast, hints of grapefruit. Very sweet flavor, toasted bread, some brown sugar, pine, cake. Full bodied with average carbonation. Finishes mildly warm with oily resins, pine, sweet grapefruit and hints of melon. Very drinkable. I love it.

A hazed dark amber DIPA with a thin lacing off white head, gushing. In aroma, nice caramel malt with loads of resinous floral hops, treacle, light sulfur, still dank. In mouth, a nice sweet caramel malt with dark fruits, light vinous character, alcohol warmth, closer to a barley wine. Bottle from 2011.

22 oz. bottle, sent from gn0sis (thanks Eric), pours a cloudy orangey with a small head. Aroma is quite pungent with truckloads of grapefruity hops, quite skunky, resinous hops and caramel malts. Flavour is quite grapefruity and citrusy in hops, with a decent amount of malt to back. Medium complexity and quite a bitter finish. Solid.

8/10/11/9/7/9
