Description
The Moab Brewery was founded in 1996 by John Borkoski (John is also the founder of a brewery in McCall, Idaho) and Dave Sabey (Dave appreciates a good beer anywhere!). Together with their partners, John and Dave have created an oasis in the desert. Moab Brewery is proud to be Moab’s only microbrewery. The beautiful and unique landscape in and around Moab provides inspiration for our fresh, hand-crafted ales.

16 oz. can from Orem, Utah State liquor store. Pours a hazy dark gold color with a tight off white head and very good retention. Good lacing. Nondescript aroma with a hint of floral hops. The taste is more pale ale than the nose. Like most of the Moab beers, it's a mellow pale ale. Not much hops flavor and a little bitter bite in the finish. Medium body. Crisp mouthfeel. Okay.

16 oz can bought at Bryce Canyon Camp Store, Bryce Canyon National Park, Bryce, UT. Pours a mostly clear gold color with a white head and good retention. A few spots of lacing. Very light malt aroma. Tastes more like a premium lager than a true pilsner. Very smooth and clean pale malt flavor with just a hint of pilsner malt in the finish. Semi-crisp mouthfeel. Medium light body. Very little bitterness. Great refreshing beer, just not very pilsner-like.

16 oz can bought at Bryce Canyon Camp Store, Bryce Canyon National Park, Bryce, UT. Pours a crystal clear gold color with a white head and very good retention. Active carbonation. Spots of lacing. Light grain aroma. Tastes more like a soft pilsner than a wheat ale, maybe due to the filtering? Light bitterness in the finish. Nothing special, but would make a good daily drinker.

16 oz can bought at Bryce Canyon Camp Store, Bryce Canyon National Park, Bryce, UT. Pours a crystal clear amber color with a large off white head and very good retention. Good lacing. Soft caramel and grain aroma. Soft caramel malt flavor up front with a soft bitter finish. Not quite as sweet and a little more bitter than I like my amber lagers, but well balanced. Semi crisp mouthfeel. Medium body.

16 oz can bought at Bryce Canyon Camp Store, Bryce Canyon National Park, Bryce, UT. Pours a hazy amber color with a large, tight off white head and excellent retention. Good lacing. Light caramel malt aroma. The taste follows the nose. Good caramel malt flavor without the typical chemical finish. Nice and smooth and clean, more like an amber lager versus an amber ale. Not too strong or too sweet. Another mellow Moab beer. Much better than their draft sampler. Very easy drinking.
