On tap at the brewery. Pours midnight black with a one+ finger tan head with excellent retention. Aroma has notes of chocolate, toffee, bourbon, vanilla, molasses, raisin. Taste is mostly sweet with mild to moderate bitterness. A little strong but not overpowering. Lots of bourbon barrel character. Somewhat soft carbonation.

Draft at the Map Room bar in Mammoth, Yellowstone. Pours a clear-ish, orange color, with a big, frothy, white head. The aroma is dry and dusty cereals, orange peel, and straw. Dry, musty, and pretty bitter. Medium body, hard, and sticky. Solid, but not very hefe-ish.

Sample during the ElkMoose Me, But Why Is Your Glass MT? event on 07/10/2020. Clear straw-gold color with a medium thin white head that burns away quickly to an outer ring. Short strings of lace. Grassy hops, fruit and malt in the nose. Light-bodied with flavors of herbal hop, citrus and biscuit malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a citrusy hop aftertaste. Decent overall.

Perfectly clear golden coloured body with a thinnish, one to perhaps two centimetre tall pure white head that fades fairly quickly. Aroma of grass, light pine, herbs, a dash of perfume and some moderate grapefruit notes - fairly nice and nothing intense through any of the scents. Medium-bodied; Relatively pungent grassy, herbal and very perfumey hop notes dominate with a lot of alpha acids and bitterness towards the end with some smooth, but noticeable malts that add to the balance, but the hops are still stronger, of course. Aftertaste shows a mellow sweetness from some citrus fruits, with a light dose of malted barley to complicate the relatively straight-forward hoppiness and piney bitterness that comes from thise one. Overall, a nice and relatively pungent, older school (read, bitter and piney) real IPA that has a lot of flavours and more hops than malt, but still a decent enough balance is struck, and the pungency remains to the end. A nice beer to sample and a bit better off fresh (way more hops and bitterness) then when sampled even a few weeks past the purchase date! I sampled this sixteen ounce, canned [bottle] container, complete with screw-top cap, purchased as a four-pack from the Ellison Store (gas station/general store) in Ellison, Montana on 28-July-2020 for US$9,49 for the four pack, with three of them drunk soon afterwards, while on vacation and this one staying with me back across the entire country and sampled at my house here in Washington on 27-September-2020.
