Corked and caged 750mL (bottle number 456/600) pours with a nearly clear copper colored body that has thin golden hues and supports a short lived head of white foam. The aroma offers up malt soaked oak, blunted and smoothed over sort of red wine like notes and then a sort of brett like sensation (that may not actually be there). The taste delivers smooth thin sweet malts rolling around under a larger flavor source of fig and kind of pear like sweet fruity esters. It then conjure up brighter notes of spicy oak and modest ester sweetened red wine like notes. The various levels of flavor seem to conspire to create a kind of brett like character as noted in the nose. I'm not sure if that's real but the overall experience works well. This is drinking fine right now and is an improvement over sampling this fresh on tap years ago.

Big malt here. Almost more like an imperial red or something in flavour. Caramel. Copper pour with decent head. Light bitter end. Can.

Can from Brix Bottle Shop in Kalispell, MT. Pours a dark reddish-brown color with a small beige head and fair retention. No lacing. Sweet and nutty malt aroma. The taste follows the nose: Sweet and nutty malt flavors. Really smooth and clean, with a lightly carbonated finish. Medium body and almost no bitterness. Not much to look at, but very tasty.

Can from Withey's Health Foods in Kalispell, MT. Pours a semi-clear gold color with a tiny white head and poor retention. Very little lacing. Light yeasty aroma. The taste follows the nose with a faint fruity esters lager flavor and a light yeasty finish. Not my favorite take on the style, but not bad. Medium-light body and a crisp mouthfeel. Not bitter.

12 oz. can from Withey's Health Foods in Kalispell, MT. Pours a deep gold color with a thick white head and great retention. Very good lacing. Faint citrus aroma. Likewise, it has a mild orange flavor mixed in a basic wheat ale. Not sweet or bitter. Medium body. Good carbonation. Not bad, but a little underwhelming. I expected more orange flavor.

Can, huge thank Tony for bringing this! Slightly hazy amber body, off white head. Lean caramelly aroma, some lemon and herbal touches, a bit earthy. Same in the taste, lean, caramelly, lemon, bit earthy. A relic of another time, this was really interesting to try.

Sample during the ElkMoose Me, But Why Is Your Glass MT? event on 07/10/2020. Clear gold color with a medium white head that burns away steadily to a film. Stringy lace. Aroma of piney hop, citrus and malt. Medium body with flavors of resiny hops, grapefruit and bready malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a piney hop aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Sample during the ElkMoose Me, But Why Is Your Glass MT? event on 07/10/2020. Slightly hazy copper-orange color with a medium thin bone white head that dissipates steadily to an outer ring. Short strings of lace. Aroma of grassy hop, citrus and malt. Light-bodied with flavors of grassy hops, citrus and biscuit malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a short fruity hop aftertaste. Decent overall.
