Canned, from Shkodër. I’ve long been searching for this, The Best Beer. In my previous visit to Albania, around 5 years ago, I only found an empty can of Best Bier from Best Brewing Company, see http://www.nikolaspb.narod.ru/COLLECTION/Alb/Alb10.JPG . Now I guess that Norga has taken over the production of The Best Beer. Anyway, it poured clear golden, with rich creamy head. It was sweet and creamywith mild spicy hops. It was also fruity with light-medium body and soft mouthfeel, but near no bitterness. While some may find it disappointing that The Best Beer is not really much more than a rather plain, albeit nicely drinkable pale lager, it can at least be established that The Best Beer is far better than the beer claiming to be "probably the best beer in the world".

Bottled in Vlorë, Albania. Clear bright golden, rich head. Spicy grassy nose. Dryish with light body. Grainy malt with some fruity orange and grassy spicy bitterness. There seems to be no correlation between this Löwenbräu and any other known Löwenbräu...

06/01 0.33 l can courtesy of and shared with Doggythedog, for whom I thank to get this hardly available beer...and my first rate for Albania. Poured golden body with smaller head. A bit skunky aroma, malty with some rust and reminding to NAs. Flavor somewhat bitterish and sweetish, very watery, and too malty, just as the can says "pure malt". Not unpleasant as aroma, but not either good. Finish is short and watery. Not so awfully bad but crap anyhow.

Canned. Golden colour, rich airy head. Grassy nose. Medium sweet and ligt bodied with fairly soft mouthfeel. Some peculiar flavour of dusty fudge before a swift spicy finish. More than decent industrial lager.

One of three cans of this brought from Albania by a friend (thanks Krešimir!). Poured a nice golden colour with a thick small white head that went away at a medium pace. The nose is nice, malty/honeyish, a touch of hop. The taste is quite watery but pleasant enough, some chewy/herbal bitterish hoppiness in the background is pretty much all there is. Quite weak maltiness, some lemon and some saltiness. Definitely a quencher, and does its job very well. Had many, many worse beers than this. Expected worse from Albania.

Norga brew since 2000. Seems to be a thirst quencher mainly. Rather thin taste, watery. The little I could taste was alright. Malty, hoppy, bitter finish, but very watery.

Canned(500ml). -Brought by a friend from a business trip in Albania. Pours a hazy yellow coloured with a medium sized quick disappearing white head. Stale cheese cake nose. Weak aroma of malt and rice with odd and very sweet caramel candy notes. Moderate sweet finish. I’m not sure is this just a bad can or this beer tastes like I’ve already mentioned above.
