Australia Day Beer #2. Spicy pepper nose. Cloudy golden amber beer with fulsome white head. A few bubbles loiter. Flat and crisp taste. Finish is subtle nutty hop bitterness. Interesting for its ABV and slammable! Best mid-strength beer in Australia by a long, long way.

Schooner on tap at the Observer, The Rocks. Obsidian black with thin white head. Coffee, dark chocolate nose. Medium body, flat mouthfeel. Taste is coffee bitter. Finish is coffee. Unfortunately I don’t like coffee so (again) my overall score is lower. A bit fruity but all I can taste is coffee.

On tap at Hart's Pub, pours a hazy pale copper golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out metallic notes and some diacetyl. Flavour is along the same lines, with dry biscuity malt, metallic notes and diacetyl. Astringent, metallic and slightly infected. Not good.

On tap at Rocks Brewing, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out piney hops and a touch of diacetyl. Flavour is on the sweet side, with caramel medicinal sweetness and a piney hoppiness. Decent but a little unbalanced to the sweet side.
