Description

Friekens brouwt al jaren bijzondere bieren op kleine schaal. Ondanks de geringe hoeveelheden wist het bier van Friekens zich in de kijker te spelen doordat het getapt werd op (sub-)culturele festivals als Robodock, Jetlag en Paint & Beer. Inmiddels is de capaciteit van de brouwerij vertienvoudigd, en is Friekens bier klaar voor een breder publiek. Eerst op de ADM, later in Villa Friekens, een gekraakt industrieel complex aan de Landsmeerdijk in Amsterdam-Noord. Nadat Villa Friekens werd ontruimd en ‘herontwikkeld’ tot villawijk verhuisde de Friekens Brouwerij naar Sportpark De Melkweg in Tuindorp Oostzaan. Voorheen brouwde Friekens in een oude zeecontainer

7 3 6 3 14Draft at Wild West Brew Fest ‘18, Amsterdam. Near clear golden with a white head. Aroma of grassy hops, green weeds, light yeast and malt. Flavour is light moderate sweet and heavy bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

On tap at Friekens. Clear amber colour, off-white head. Aroma of caramel, hint of resin, some lemon peel. Flavour is medium sweet, caramel, toffee, sweet resin, soft lemony hops, a bit grainy, hint of plastic. Light bodied. The pils was more convincing. 33cl Bottle at STROOP, on tap at PROOST/Friekens. Slightly hazy golden colour, white head. Aroma of floral hops, lemon peel, bison grass, light malty. Flavour is soft, medium sweet, malty, light hoppy, floral, light grassy, hint of citrus, lemon. Light bodied. Good.
