Brouwer - eigenaar Luc Vermeersch heeft een grote interesse voor traditionele ambachten. Niet vreemd dus dat hij destijds in zijn tuinhuis een broodoven en kleine brouwerij heeft geïnstalleerd. De minibrouwerij van 30 liter had hij in 1997 in Finland gekocht. Hij kreeg van de fabrikant juist geteld één weekend opleiding. Door veel zelfstudie en het maken van talloze kleine proefbrouwsels groeide zijn brouwkennis en -interesse. Na 10 jaar brouwen schreef hij zich in voor een brouwcursus. Tijdens het cursusjaar smeedde hij plannen voor een grotere brouwerij en begon hij her en der delen van de installatie te kopen. In april 2008 was brouwerij De Leite een feit.

Draft at Max's. Some light lacing. Light hazy to dim gold color. Short burst if acetic on the nose with lemon. Definitely some wet barrel, which comes off as corky. Paine sweet Belgian dough malt underneath that. Flavor is less acetic, covered u by the soft dough. Low esters, low hops. Some. Ore sourness and corkiness finishes the flavor. Sour sticks around to dry the palate. I've had three from this brewery and all enjoyable without being life altering.

Hazy pale yellow with a thin, foamy, white head; little lacing. Aroma of oak, (wild) yeast, green apple, herbs & spices, grapes, hay, bready malt. It tastes light to medium funky sour, bit fruity, and light to medium hoppy bitter, some yeast notes. Dryish, bit tart, hoppy & grassy finish. Medium body, slick texture, soft carbonation. Subtle brew.

F: thin, white, average retention. C: straw, bit hazy. A: watery bretty, bit fruity, bit woody. T: watery bretty, bit woody, fruity, bit woody tannins, nice bitterness, medium body and carbonation, quite watery feeling but ok, sample shared with Germany and BE RB crew @ ZBF 2018.

Thank you for sharing RB People! Sampled draft @ ZBF 2018. Orange golden, small white head. Nose is smoked, mineral, this one is actually peated, seaweed. Taste is seaweed, smoke, surfur, eggs, plastic, falls a bit flat, fluffy. Too interesting really for me, that sort of goes for the whole series.

Thank you for sharing RB People! Sampled draft @ ZBF 2018. Golden, small soapy head. Nose is massively smoked, most of all, smoked, medicinal, eggs & sulphur. Oily hugely mineral, very sulphur, eggs, medicinal, smoked, fluffy & higher carbonated. Too much of all these weird notes for me.
