22oz bomber, generously offered up in trade by gregwilsonstl, pours with a near clear deep copper body that has thin gold edges and supports a full tan head of foam. The modest aroma offers up smooth prunes and figs and then a malty aged wheat note that has a faintly earthy component to it. The taste greets you with integrated smooth malts and brighter prune, raisin and molasses sweetened ripe cherry notes. It gets near juicy with estery fruitiness and then faint earthiness around the edges of the flavor. This is drinking pretty nice and if the label didn’t state wheatwine I doubt I could pick up any traditional wheatwine flavors. Still? Good drinking beer.
