Bottle, 5.2%. Weak farty, sweetish aroma. Clear yellow colour. The flavour is OK sweet, but has some citric sweet notes. A little paper notes, and a vinous finish.

500ml bottle. Deep toffee brown color. Aroma of dark pungent fruit, sweet dark malt. Very smooth and malty, with almost no hop balance, maybe a smidgen. Reminiscent of a Dunkel but with the smooth yeasty pungency of a Bock. Smooth, creamy mouthfeel..quite nice. I don’t get the feeling that this bottle is very fresh, would love to try this one on tap.

500ml bottle. Clear filtered yellow color with just a tinge of green. Doughy, pleasant aroma. Rather straightforward and mellow, and down right awesome. This is a great Helles. Interesting light and sweet yeast/malt character, with barely noticeable, minimal, yet balanced hop balance. Wowsers, so creamy and smooth. The ultimate session beer. Sonthofen is starting to sound nice...

Nice flip top half liter bottle. Friendly dark pour that does not approach black. Very little aroma but what exists is an interesting smooth belgie. Small carbotion at first then fades in session. Malty higher alky drink has manners but is still difficult at times. Morphs from smooth to caustic. Finish is mediciny beer with an attitude. Somewhat like their bavarian wheat but much more alky and darker. S5L4F2T409

Date code 1657, heheh. Nice bottle and label. Difficult to find this beer by brewer on the Oko-Bier label. Couldn’t really tell who brewed it from the old euro writng on the bottle label. But on the back it said ‘hoss’ under a magnifying glass. Flip top farmer +16 oz half liter bottle. Life-size swirling dirty water pour from gunk on bottom of bottle. Does have that ol’ banana aroma and spices in there but its not overwhelming. Not a whole lotta carbonation in this brew. Rather flat hefe experience. No artificial carbonation was used in this beer. To a certain extent bland, but continues its banana flavor into the session. Not bitter and lacks a certain forward character. Cannot detect much alky in there. Seems much less than +5%. Overall a pleasant monotonous beer experience without bells and whistles. For some reason, expected more. Seems old world to me. S6L4F2TO

The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. Nice head for a doppelbock. Malty aroma, a bit sourish. Starts malty, not too strong, modest alcoholic. The finish is dry, strong-malty, could be a bit sweeter. Still a good doppelbock!

Bottled. A golden beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet malty with floral notes of hops. The flavor is sweet malty with primary notes of straw, leading to a dry bitter finish.

(swing top bottle) Clear, pale golden colour with a medium-sized foamy white head. Sweet malty, honeyish fruity nose. Moderately sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a crispy carbonation. Strawy malty taste with light notes of honey; quite slim, moderately sweet malty finish with a weak bitterness. Rather boring (spring 2008).
