33cl bottle in Bierbrasserie Cambrinus, Brugge: 6th September 2022. Mini haze to the golden body, decent white affair on top. Light citrus undertones below the yeasty and malty front. Went well with my Cannelloni, as did a few other beers!

Can 33 cl. Pours an almost clear very pale yellow with a small, white head. Rather perfumy nose, more bbblegum than hops. Thin, sugary sweet body with a little late touch of bitterness. More soda pop than beer. 290822

Super hazy and chunky deep ruby and lighter brown coloured body with a muddied brownish glow and some soft red and copper glowing aspects all under a single centimetre tall rich tan head that fades fairly quickly, especially for a belgian. Aroma of super complex and funky yeast notes with some bananas, bread, lactobilly funk, a ton of apples, pears and soft fruits with a lot of tart and berry-like notes here as well with a good bretty note as well with some wood and cedar notes at the end but seemingly none from spontaneous fermentation - very complex in the nose and incredible for the style. Medium-bodied; Rich muddied and earthy, rustic malt note at first with some light nuttiness and a simple grassy finish with the lactobilly notes and some cream, vanilla and milk actually showing up a bit earlier, but the tart and fruity notes follow right behind with a touch of flowers and perfume, too, but the complexity really arises from the tartness and soured qualities. Aftertaste shows some light tartness and cherry notes with bananas, soft malts, a dash of bubble gum and a more pronounced blueberry and blackberry finish, but the lactobilly and especially the bretty notes dominate here in a good way that maximises the complexity while leaving a relatively typical dubbel in the background. Overall, a nice beer and very complex throughout, but I immediately bought this because it was a reputable belgian in a can, but I'm happy I bought it, aged it and enjoyed it on a nice day. This is a good beer to try if you can find it! I sampled this 33 cL can, purchased from BeerTopia in Omaha, Nebraska on 27-June-2018 for US$4,49 sampled just over four years later at my house here in Washington on 11-July-2022.

28/V/22 - 33cl bottle as a gift, shared @ Arno’s place, BB: 8/X/24 (2022-617) Thanks to Wim B. for the bottle!

Clear blond beer, huge creamy aery off-white head, stable, rocky, a bit adhesive, leaving some patches of lacing in the glass. Aroma: fruity, funky, a bit infected, some brett notes, malty, grains. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: a bit sweet, malty, sourish touch, some yeast, dusty, spicy, bitter, ok. Aftertaste: weird, fruity, sourish, bitter, unpleasant, metallic, very mediocre and probably infected. Weird as this is supposed to come from De Proefbrouwerij...

Can , half honest new AF beer, stated as 'brewed in Belgium for' , but not by whom... Aren't we still grown up enough to just be honest , open and respectfull enough towards the actual brewery making this ? Anyway, it doesn't take a long search to see this is another Beerselect. Pours a clear, very light pale lemongold. Medium sized, very stable, pillowy white head (foam enhancers?) Scent is mild, somewhat lime hidden malty features. Clean . Taste is surprisingly bitter, just a touch of saltyness to it. Mild maltyness. Easy drinker, with a below-medium body, and medium carbonation. Mildly noticable AF-typical stickyness, but they've done a more than decent job hiding that factor as good as possible - as minerality is quite strong, and the bitterness is medium high to balance out that wort-like sweetness. A decent Non alcoholic beer, not on par with some of the best ones out there, of course. Very marketing-loaded , which actually takes some of the charm away to me. Also, I get that IPA is popular and will boost sales, but IPA's need to be really hopforward (also in aroma). Calling this an IPA - AF or not - simply doesn't make sense to me.

The aromas are caramel malt, yeast, spice and a hint of cherry. Flavors are similar to nose, quite mild and balanced. Lightly sweet tart with a little bitter and good carbonation to balance. Barest hint of cherry. Smooth body and finish follows flavors. Easy drinking.
