Clear golden coloured body with a very thin white head. Aroma of pale malt, rice, a touch of light metal and bitter assertive medicinal quality and very little else. Light-bodied; Pungent, strong metallic flavour at first gives way to a malty taste with a bit of rice and a little sweetness coming through the slightest hint of citrus. Aftertaste is fairly bland and watery with not much going on at all. Overall, a fairly standard beer over here with some subdued flavours, but some rather potent metallic and bitter flavours to finish it off. I sampled this 50 cL bottle purchased in Shanghai, PRC in March 2005 (Restaurant) and August 2007 (Convenience Store).

What can you expect with a beer called 7-11 select? It’s watery with a foul aftertaste that grows in your throat the more you drink. Had in a 330ml can in Taiwan from...7-11.

Für die Region Shanghai gebraut. Im Vergleich mit dem vorher getesteten Suntory 8° ist das 10 gradige etwas herber und auch etwas fruchtig. Der hopfige Nachgeschmack mit malzigem Unterton ist im Vergleich zum 8° ein Meilenstein! Dennoch ist es immernoch zu mild, wenigstens lassen sich hier Aromen erkennen... Für die Region Shanghai gebraut. Muffiger, leicht herb-verwässerter Antrunk, der auch das Gesamtbild des Bieres wiederspiegelt. Der Mittelteil ist pures Wasser, im Nachgeschmack leicht sauer. Wirklich ein unnötiges Bier. Test vom 17.10.2006, Gebinde: Dose Noten: 7,4,7,3,4,4 - 4,60
