(bottle, 33cl) Dark brown colour with a ruby shine and a big but quickly collapsing tanned foamy head. Roasted malty aroma with notes of coffee, molasses, subtle hints of raisins and a leathery touch. Roasty bitter and delicately sweet flavour, rather light bodied with a moderate carbonation. Roast-malty base with coffee and burnt notes, reminding me of ashtrays, especially towards the finish. Not bad, although somewhat rough. 28.VIII.18

(bottle, 33cl) Clear, copper colour with a beige mid-sized frothy head. Slightly metallic biscuity malty aroma with hints of caramel and buttery popcorn. Moderately bitter and slightly sweet flavour, light bodied with a slightly harsh carbonation. Dark malty base with notes of caramel, toasted nuts and popcorn, leading into a quite bitter hoppy finish, almost without balancing malty sweetness. Rough stuff. 28.VIII.18

(bottle, 33cl) Clear, pale golden colour with a blond mid-sized foamy head. Doughy and delicately grainy malty aroma with notes of grassy and slightly herbal-spicy hops. Moderately bitter and slightly sweet flavour, light bodied with a crisp carbonation. Doughy and slightly mineralic malty base with grassy hops and traces of herbal spice; dry and moderately hop bitter finish. Rather boring. 27.VII.18

(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, pale golden colour with a short foamy white head. Citrus-fruity and slightly piney hoppy aroma with a mildly doughy pale malty touch and a cautious grainy background. Slightly bitter and delicately sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Mildly mineralic and doughy, also slightly grainy malty base with citric, slightly floral and cautious piney hops, leading into a slightly hop bitter finish with a rounded malty counterpart. 20.VII.18

Bottle: Light golden with a greenish sheen, small stable white foamy layer; mild to moderate bitter-sweet herbal-grassy nose with a slight metallic tinge; mild to moderate bitter-sweet flavour, quite light bodied, but quite soft at least; slightly lingering, but mild grassy-herbal finish with a well hidden malty counterpart and a returning metallic tinge. Not the worst Bier from the ugly Sauerland...

Bottle: Clear, ruby-amber coloured, small - slowly collapsing - off-white head, dryish toasty-malty nose, some dried fruits, some peat underneath; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied; lingering toasty-peaty finish with an increasing bitterness towards the very end. Not the real stuff for the average Sauerland Pils-Trinker, but nevertheless a good one...

0.33 l bottle from 'TOP Getränke' (Letmathe), best before February 2018. Clear, very dark ruby to black with a medium large, frothy, stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly roasty aroma of cocoa, toasted nuts and caramel. Quite sweet, just slightly bitter, malty and slightly roasty taste of cocoa, coffee, toasted nuts and caramel, followed by a short, moderately bitter, slightly roasty and a little earthy finish with some metallic notes. Medium body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Quite nice actually, way more pleasant than the other two ones I tried some months ago. Unfortunately, it has that annoying, metallic finish as well, even if it is less disturbing.
