33cl bottle: BB 18th November 2020. Drank on my holiday apartment balcony in Nidri on 5th October 2022. Dirty and murky brown body, wispy off-white head. Sweet caramel rules here, there are some piney hops for a bitter undertone but it's mostly sweet caramel.

Bottle, many thanks to Fin and ultimately Kostas for the generosity! Hazy golden color with white head. Aroma is actually white-winey, white grapes, juicy, very impressive. Taste is grapey, juicy, vanilla-like, sweet, a bit funky, really impressive that this only comes from the yeast. Oily mouthfeel, with soft and fine-bubbled carbonation. Drier than you would think in the end. Very impressive, I like this one!

2018 bottle, many thanks to Fin and ultimately Kykao! Ruby color with off-white head. Aroma is strawberries, a lot of strawberries, cherrires and other berries too. Taste is the same, leather, bit strawberry, quite acetic, could be deeper. Oily mouthfeel, mildly sparkly carbonation. Quite a sharp edge, but solid nonetheless, though I think it's a bit too acidic and fruit-forward for a Flemish Red.

2020 bottle, many thanks to Fin and ultimately Kostas for this one. Black color with off-white head. Aroma is iodine, peat, roast, intense Islay barrel. Taste is iodine, peat, dark chocolate, quite some sweetness in the back, some warming booze in the back. Oily mouthfeel, medium high but soft carbonation. It does have more sweetness left than many others of the kind, but I still don't get why people go for such barrels in this intensity.

21st September 2022 Bottle from Drankenhandel and supped in my Leiden hotel room. Hazy reddish amber beer, a few pale tan bubbles never come close to forming a head. Palate is light and smooth, with reasonable fine carbonation. Light malts deliver a light creamy sweetness. This is a barleywine that serves it's barrel which is a Greek red wine, sweetish. However the physical barrel itself also muscles in here. A little raw wood along with a nice smooth oaky vanilla. Rich red wine, not too sweet, a nice red berry liqueur vibe. A return to mildly creamy malts and a savoury woody red wine on the finish. A slightly curious affair but one that seduces and satisfies. Edit - the whole bottle vanished.

Can direct from Kostas at Kykao, cheers mate. Had this at home listening to Tom Robinson standing in for Marc Riley on 6 Music, we had Cottage Pie for tea. . Pours black with a creamy textured off white head, looks like a Guinness in appearance. As the description suggests this has an intensity, but it's very balanced, smooth and hugely drinkable despite the abv. Roasted malts lend a toasty element to the otherwise hop forward aroma. Flavour wise again a little roasty but tempered with a citrussy hoppiness, smooth moutheel, a little creamy even, are there any oats in here I wonder? Lovely BIPA.
