Had this Thursday 25th February 2021, listening to Tom Ravenscroft sitting in for Steve Lamaq on 6Music, Loz is cooking a Spaghetti Bolognese. Pours yellow gold with a white head, a tiny bit of sediment in suspension. Spicy on the nose and in the mouth, a little nod towards Pilsner, I even get a little grapefruit, dry, crisp, pushing the boundaries much like the Ganstaller last night. Am I falling in love with Helles (*hoppy)

Bottle courtesy of Kostas, Kykao brewer thanks my friend. Had this at home Wednesday 3rd February 2021, listening to Marc Riley on 6 Music having had Stuffed Aubergines (stuffed with mozzarella, pesto etc) on a tomato sauce, with Mozzarella, Tomato and Basil Salad. Pours dark murky puddle brown with an off white head. Sherry notes, suggesting sweetness, woody elements, a little booziness. Thick in the mouth, surprised by the bitterness which is hidden somewhat by the big sweetness. Fascinating beer, interesting choice of barrel, smooth, a great barley wine.

Bottle, thanks a lot Fin! Very much Lychee, super Lychee aroma. Hazy golden, low head. Medium to full body. Dry lychee, sweet white bread, kiwi marmelade, top notch boozy fruits, super intersting. Too easy drinkable :-P

Bottle, many thanks Fin! Hazy golden color with white head. Aroma is lychee, full-blown lychee purree, really unexpected. Taste is lychee, some champagne yeast flavours there, brioche, warming finish. Surprisingly fine-bubbled carbonation. Wow, I'm impressed. The ingredients list claims only water, barley malt, hops, yeast - must be a crazy yeast, cause this is basically a mimosa where you replace the orange juice with lychee juice. I am really blown away by this, especially if there really are no adjuncts in here - this is similar to Cloudwater's Slushie series, where Grape Brut IPAs are blended with Fruited sours... Bonus points for that!

Bottle courtesy of Kostas, Kykao brewery, cheers my friend. Had this at home Wednesday 6th January 2021 listening to Billy Nomates - No and cooking homemade Fish Pie, technically seafood as there are more prawns, mussels and squid than fish. The aroma is a little bit herbal as expected but with some stone fruits. A little peachy and apricot in the flavour department and some floral touches. A touch heavy on the herbal front, however it’s nice, refreshing and easy drinking considering the abv.

Bottle shared in London - cheers to Cloin! Pours cloudy yellow-gold with a creamy, white head. Holds some expressive yeast, citrus, pine needles giving some bitterness. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with grassy bitterness and saison yeast. Not bad.

Bottle from Kostas the brewer at Kykao brewery cheers mate! Consumed at home Monday 28th December 2020 listening to Craig Charles standing in for Steve Lamaq on 6 Music, just had Stuffed aubergine rolls with melting mozzarella. Pours lemon squash colour so very hazy with a mid sized white head. Fresh, punchy green hoppiness, a little juicy but you can guess that there is a shed load of hops in here, good, very good.

Bottle courtesy of Kostas, brewer at Kykao brewery, Patras, Greece and consumed at home Saturday 26th December 2020 πŸŽ„ Boxing Day πŸŽ„ now cooking Cannelloni, instead. Listening to Billy No Mates. Pours gold with a white head This is fine but by Kykao standards it's a little below par, hoppiness is blunted, a little dusty and taste is very middle of the road, light fruity, unexciting.

750ml bottle courtesy of Kostas brewer at Kykao Brewery, Patras, Greece consumed at home in the company of Xenofon and Anastasia, Wednesday 23rd December 2020 listening to Craig Charles standing in for Steve Lamaq on 6 Music, we have Mexican Meatballs for tea tonight. Pours dark gold edging towards orange/light amber, head white in colour. Not getting too much pomegranate on the nose, however it is clean, berries, fresh and spritzy. Taste following on from the nose displays similar characteristics, nice tangy bittersweet fruity bite, refreshing, touch thin but to be expected re: abv, good beer.
