Bottle from Birratrovo, Como, bb 30.06.12 L 1403
Dark brown color, near black, with huge head. Very nice aroma of dark chocolate and roasted nuts, delicate and elegant. The mouthfeel is quite weak, but smooth enough; flavor of caramel with moderate roasted malt, and rather low bitterness.
A pleasant Sweet Stout.

Hazy blond color. Mild aroma, some malt, some grass and hay. Dry mouthfeel, medium flavor of malt, with hints of honey and cereals; quite strong bitterness.

Bottle at Birroteca La Tana del Luppolo, Bologna. Pours hazy orange with a monstrous, white foam head. Light whipped cream, really. Some light pine in the nose with a bit of tropical fruit. Medium sweet flavor, some pine, hay, tropical fruits, ripe citrus. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Some earthy, grassy and resinous hops to finish, with mild warmth, orange citrus and lasting grass. Has a very fresh character. (Eddie Vedder plays on the sound system.) Solid IPA.

Draught, 330ml at Bir&Fud where it was nicely served in perfect shape and at the right drinking temperature. Steady, low layer at the top of a hazy, golden-amber body. Strong aroma of fresh fruity hops. Enjoying tropical fruity flavour followed by a more pine-like pattern and ending with a good bitter support. Medium to full bodied. Flavoursome and my favourite this Friday evening (Roma, 30.03.2012).

Half pint, draught at the one and only Ma Che Siete Venuti where it was served at the right drinking temperature. Near black body with a brownish shade. Film-type layer at the top, laces well. Aroma of earthy, sweet malts with notes of chocolate. Mix of coffee, chocolate and lactose in the taste profile, partially offset by dark, fruity hops. Easy drinking. Nice (Roma, 30.03.2012).

Cask at Macche. Big grassy hops, fresh cut grass, green, fresh nose with light malt. Flavor of green apple, grass, light malts, more grass. Soft and smooth with a hoppy finish. Nice.

Cask at Ma Che Siete Venuti a Fa. Black with orange tints and a low head. Nose of milk, burnt caramel, vanilla. Lightly roasted, but nothing as much as coffee, brown sugar, huge caramel. Flavor is sweet and milky with caramel and chocolate, light berries. Sweet but quite tasty. Lightly burnt, bitter finish. Nice.

Bottle from Domus Birrae and tap at Macche. Bronze amber with a low, fine head. Grassy hop aroma, smells Kiwi, with light caramel and the rye coming through more on tap than in the bottle. Lovely hop flavor, great balance, nice bitterness. Perfectly drinkable in large quantities. Great in the bottle but more subtle and fragrant on tap.
