Description
Hills is a kraft beer of a small independent brewery near the city of Plovdiv. The place where the classic traditions of brewing become the end product so that we can enjoy a truly pure, high-quality beer together.
Hills is made of pure mountain water from the Rhodopes and specially selected high quality raw materials from Germany. The recipes are by master brewer Wolfgang Trautner - with over 29 years of experience in the industry. The whole process is controlled by three Bulgarian technologists in the brewery, who take care from "A to Hills" for compliance with the "German Beer Purity Act of 1516."

Bottle drank in Gabrovo - many thanks to Nora! Pours unclear, bright gold with a frothy, pure white head. The nose holds citrus rind, pine needles, wheat flakes. Light sweet flavour with notes of pale crackers, straw, dried citrus peel. Light bodied with average, massaging carbonation. Dry finish, with further crispy crackers, dried lemon rind, pine needles. Decent stuff.

Bottle at the flat in Gabrovo - picked up at Nosferatu in Sofia. Pours clear gold, effervescent, with a frothy, white head. Nice dry biscuits in the nose, some crunchy draw, grass. Light sweet flavour with sturdy grassy hops, some crisp grains, more biscuits, dried straw. Light bodied with average carbonation. Quite clean in the finish, with further pale grains, crunchy straw, grassy bitterness. Credit where it's due - solid pils.

Bottle from 100 Beers, Sofia. Shared with lovely Anja and Our K&K Igor. Clear golden, small off-white head. Light hay, lightly grainy, bready and dusty. Bready balanced with light hops. Light body, moderate carbonation, crisp, refreshing, abrupt bready finish balanced with hops. Nice pilsener!
