Blue Owl Brewing is an all sour brewery in Austin, Texas. We started Blue Owl in 2015 to make sour beers approachable yet still unique. Our souring style accentuates the beer rather than dominating your taste buds. We aim to produce clean, well-balanced sour beers that retain the characteristics of their style.

Can, thanks Steve. Pale yellow, small white head. Smells of sour wheat, a little oak. Softer sour taste, lightly sweet even. Cross of a Berliner and a hefe. Interesting.

12oz can thanks to Steve. pours out a hazy straw topped with a small head. nose is light source wheat notes. Taste is more of the funky wheat notes and a touch of fruit.

Can from Whole Foods-Lamar. Nice wheat aroma, light bodied. Dull pour, sweetish taste, dry puckering mouth feel. Good palate cleanser.

On tap at Petrol Station. Pours a clear copper with small white head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is strong caramel and dough. Thin mouth, very tart, toasted malt, caramel, light finish, good.

Can thanks to Grant. Pours a hazy orange with small off white head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is strong cereal, fruit hop, dough. Thin mouth, nice sourness, fruity hop, light bitterness, really good.

Can shared at the 10th Annual Epic & Unusual Beer Tasting, 11/29/15. Hazy peach, thin white head, fair retention. Aroma of piney, herbal hops and pale malt. The taste is tart lemon, pale malt, mild brine. Thin bodied.

355mL can, pours a cloudy golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma is tart, with some stale biscuity notes and earthy tartness. Flavour isn't too pleasing, with earthy tartness, some cardboard, and dryness. Very low complexity, with a bone dry palate. Decent but nothing special. Meh.

On tap at Jester King. Pours a hazy yellow gold with small frothy white head that lasts leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is strong dough, wheat, citrus. Thin mouth, similar flavors to nose, light tartness, clean finish, very good.
