Clouded reddish brown yellow pour from can in Houston. Sour hits and a chewy malt. Pretty good.

12 oz. can from HEB in Boerne, TX. Pours a lightly hazy gold color with a fizzy white head that didn’t last long. No lacing. Zero aroma. Bright malt flavor with a lemony finish. A very easy drinking Pilsner-like beer. Light, thin body. High carbonation. Not bitter. A decent quencher.

16 oz. can from HEB in Boerne, TX. Pours a pitch black color with some root beer color highlights and a tan head with great retention. Spotty lacing. Almost no aroma, just a hint of orange. The flavors are all there: Brief stout notes followed by stronger orange and chocolate flavors, ending with a sour finish. Mission accomplished, I guess, but the sour finish makes it taste like the beer's gone bad. Shame. A bit thin for a stout. Low carbonation. Not bitter. At least the 9.1% ABV is completely invisible. 68 SU?

Can at BBT in july 2023. Rather thin body, rather high carbonation. Med-high sourness, med-light saltiness, med-light sweetness, low bitterness. Lots of limey citrusy character, med-light pickles, rather light dill. Well balanced, easy drinking, very slavic feeling. Tasty, very good.

Can at BBT. All about pickles, light in aroma, enough in taste, dill notes, light to medium sour and salty. Medium body, sour pickles finish with saltyness. Weird.

Can from Total Wine & More, San Antonio.
A: hazy red, thin, tan head.
A: cherry, red apple, almond, redcurrant.
T: sweet cherry & apple, bitter cherry pit, red grape.
F: softly tart cherry, berry skin, bit vinous.
P: medium body, slick texture, average carbonation.
More easy-going than a Belgian example, but enjoyable.

Can from H-E-B, Bastrop, TX. Hazy amber, stable, foamy, tan head. Aroma of plum, fig, dried orange peel, lemon zest, artisan jam, honey, kitchen herbs. Taste has sour plum, lemon acid, sweetish jam and earthy herbs. Tart finish with lemon peel, some herbal hops and a slight orange pith-like bitterness. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation. Interesting and balanced blend.
