RBA Red Fish from Pacific Coast Brewing

On tap at Pacific Coast, pours a deep dark amber with a small beige head. Aroma brings out lots of sweet rum barrels, with some light tartness. Flavour is similar, with plenty of rum barrels, light tart stone fruits and light acidity. Nice rum barrel character. A little too acidic, but it works decently.

Elder Statesman from Pacific Coast Brewing

On tap at Pacific Coast, pours a clear dull copper with a small beige head. Aroma brings out plenty of lavender and rosemary, with juniper further back. Flavour is along the same lines, with lots of juniper upfront, followed by cereal sweetness and the other spices. Not really a tripel, nor an authentic gruit. Interesting experimental beer.

On tap at Pacific Coast, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out roasted malt, light hoppiness, not a whole lot else. Flavour is robust, with medium roasted malt, fairly high sweetness, and some caramel. Very sweet and abrasive. Not the most refined impie. Decent.

On tap at Pacific Coast, pours a hazy deep dark caramel brown with a small beige head. Aroma is along the same lines, with lots of dry piney hops, bready malt and tons of abrasiveness. Harsh and bitter. Decent.

On tap at Pacific Coast, pours a clear copper with a small beige head. Aroma is subdued, with light pepper, English biscuity malt and a hint of herbal hops. Flavour is along the same lines, with herbal hops, English malt and light spiciness. Clean and easy to drink. Solid stuff.

On tap at Pacific Coast, pours a clear dull copper blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out light coriander and a hint of orange peel. Flavour is along the same lines, with light coriander, citrus and some wheat. Subdued but clean and well-designed. Solid.

Nitro draft pint at Pacific Coast Brewing in Oakland, California. The pour is hazed brown black, with a cap of a ½ inch khaki head. The aroma is ashy, sweet chocolate, and coffee. The taste is mild sweetness and the ashy roast. The palate is nitro soft carbonation, and a clean dry finish. Solid.

From tap at the brewpub. Black color with creamy beige head. Roasted malty aroma, bread, caramel, chocolate, coffee. Sweet and bitter taste like aroma. Full silky oily body with soft carbonation.

From tap at the brewpub. Light unclear amber color with white to off white head. Malty and hoppy aroma, bread, caramel, grass, pine, orange. Moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter taste. Medium oily body with soft carbonation.
