Bottle from The Food Emporium, 3rd Avenue, NYC. Pours pale gold/orange with a very short lasting white head. Aroma of lemon, lime, wheat, hop and very light herb and spice. Moderate sweetness, medium bitterness, touch of sour. Light body, slight watery texture, and above average carbonation. Finish is dry and fruity. Not bad.

Draft at Ginger Man. Dark brown, creamy brown head, heavy lace. Chocolate, coffee, and peppers. Creamy. Sweet up front, pepper comes through on the close. Nice beer.

From tap. Pours pitch black with a small tan head. Aroma is roasted malty and caramelish to toffee. Sweet, roasted and light herbal to spiced. Caramelish and toasted malty. Roasted malty andchili herbal dry and spiced finish.

Draught @ Ginger Man. Opaque dark brown with creamy beige head, roasted malt aroma, medium carbonation, sweetish mocha taste with a chili bite, creamy body, long mocha finish. Quite well balanced chili vs sweet mocha, good job.

Bottle in NYC hotel room. Opaque black color, medium-sized brownish head. Aroma has ash, wet tobacco. Medium-bodied. Toasted, burned malty flavor. A bit ashy. Quite ashy-burned stout, kind of unbalanced although drinkable.
