Brežice Beer Fest. Oooh man... to say that this looked like a yeast shot would be an insult to yeast shots everywhere. Incredible, opaque paaaaaaale brown body with a small white head. Ugh. The nose, however, saves the day (kinda) by offering a nice lemon rock candy character - not spectacular but welcome. The taste retains some of it, which is cool enough, but gives away some notes of beet too, quite watery. I WILL re-rate it in the future though. Rok seems to be a very cool, friendly guy and, like all other emerging micro brewers trying to experiments, deserves our support.

Bottle from Ljubljana, Slovenia. Pours dark brown with beige head. Roasted malty aroma. For some reason it’s sour. Probably something wrong with it.

Bottle from HerrBierkoenig, many thanks Damian. Hazy orange golden color with thick persistent off white head. Aroma of oranges, tangerines, mango, papaya, malt. Taste, solid malty backbone followed by fruity hoppy touch with tangerines, mango, apricots, orange zest. Fruity finish with sour notes. Overall drinkable beer in hot summer weather.

Bottle, 0.50l. Cloudy dark brown color with small creamy off-white head and nice lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, liquorice and floral hops. Taste starts with moderate sweet roasted malt and mild chocolate notes, follows by pleasant fruity acidity, while finish is strong bitter. Full body, oily texture and average carbonation in palate. Stout for president :)

Pours with a dark brown color and an average cream colored head. The aroma is a combination of roasted malts, coffee and caramel, also some chocolate. Start is characterized by sweet roasted malts, followed by decently bitter body, some caramel and coffee in there. Bitter finish. As all Carniola’s beers, pleasantly drinkable and tasty, although a bit more forgetable than some others. Could be just me.

This one pours a completely dark brown almost black with a decent cream colored head. There is a roasted malt aroma which is complemented by some coffee aroma as well. The taste is very bitter and there’s a bit too much coffee for my liking. A strong tasting beer.

Wow, this winter beer was a pleasant surprise. Pours a completely hazy amber color with a small and quickly disappearing white head. The aroma is simply amazing. Gentle aroma of hops is complemented by a superb aroma of anise which immediately reminds me of the Christmas fairs and punch on the stands. The taste is sweet and you can feel other spices. It’s very creamy and smooth with a slight bitterness in the aftertaste. Amazing.

Pours a slightly hazy darker copper color and a very decent slightly cream colored head with adequate retention. The aroma is pretty straigtforward. Sweet and caramely, slight roastiness. The taste is sweet with some roasted feel. It’s flat, no carbonation, and creamy. Finishes with minimal bitterness. Not bad at all.

A pleasant surprise in the mail. Not really the best beer I have tasted, but still an OK choice. Looks: golden and hazy with a medium off color head. The first impression - it will be a heavy and filling one. Aroma: basically hops, hops and hops, also slightly too much alcohol smell. Taste is pretty much neutral, although it appears slightly stale due to the lack of carbonation. Not really bitter, only slightly on the tongue. Slight bitter aftertaste.
