Description
The reason Jamie Emmerson and Irene Firmat started Full Sail in the first place was to build a company that was completely different from the ones where we’d previously worked. It wasn’t about business as usual. It was about finding our calling in life — about truly appreciating our “human resources,” and balancing work, life, family and friends in a way that makes life truly worth living.

Determined to make world-class beer in our own backyard, one of our first, and perhaps best, decisions was to invest in new, state-of-the-art brewing equipment. So we bit the bullet, laid down our borrowed cash, and spent the better part of 1987 installing the new system. Our love for the environment is what drives our sustainable practices, so pure water, local ingredients and responsible processes are poured into each and every tasty pint.

Bottle from Toby. Showing its age. Medium, clear brown. Sweet, maple notes. More brown sugar, light malts. Close to not being a Doppelbock anymore.

Pours clear gold with a thick white head and intense carbonation. Aroma of dry malt. Taste is plain and beerish. Palate has tropical floral notes. Plain but more interesting than is typical of the style.

12 ounce bottle from a mixed 12 pack. Pours a clear orange hue with a large white head. A light fruity nose. Soft, perfume, the flavor is quite juicy, soft as hell palate, light resin. This is pretty good. Surprisingly good.

Not bad, more of a normal juicy IPA than a malted milkshake-inspired one, with strong veins of grapefruit, berry, pine, passion fruit, and resin backed up by a nuanced vanilla-tinged sweetness and a fair amount of bitterness on the back end. The subtlety with the vanilla is appreciated; ice cream notes flit around the periphery instead of turning the brew into a sugary, dessert IPA nightmare. Still, it comes across more generic than anything, a good IPA in a market full of amazing ones.

Pretty impressive for them to develop an ultrasonic infusion method just to make a pretty regular-degular IPA. I like it when overly complicated processes are employed to create standard, if pretty good, fare, so kudos, Atomizer! Nothing amazing here, but also nothing to complain about; deep veins of pine, resin, dank, grapefruit, and lemon zest lead to a clingy bitterness on the back end. Mild notes of honey, caramel, and toast come from the malts. Not a bad IPA by any means, but the highfalutin brewing process does seem silly.

Tap at OBF 2019. Pours hazy gold with a white head. Aroma of citrus, lactose and mixed fruits. Med body. Flavor is lactose and very mixed fruits. Reasonably dry. Decently bitter. Nice for the style.
