Description
The reason Jamie Emmerson and Irene Firmat started Full Sail in the first place was to build a company that was completely different from the ones where we’d previously worked. It wasn’t about business as usual. It was about finding our calling in life — about truly appreciating our “human resources,” and balancing work, life, family and friends in a way that makes life truly worth living.

Determined to make world-class beer in our own backyard, one of our first, and perhaps best, decisions was to invest in new, state-of-the-art brewing equipment. So we bit the bullet, laid down our borrowed cash, and spent the better part of 1987 installing the new system. Our love for the environment is what drives our sustainable practices, so pure water, local ingredients and responsible processes are poured into each and every tasty pint.

Thanks to Bück Dich for this one! The head on this was large and sticky, white and lasted all the way. Well balanced aroma of pine and citrus. The aromas replayed again in the flavor, with the malt and hop bitterness going back and forth with the slight bitterness winning out overall. The body could have been a bit more solid to suit my liking, but this is a good everyday IPA.

Thanks to Bück Dich for this one. Dark brown with lots of ruby highlights under a fleeting 1" head. Caramel and spice and nuts in the aroma. Smooth and malty with just a hint of hop bitterness. Nice brew.

2004 version. Sampled at marinaro500’s post-Thanksgiving gathering, provided by BBB63. Cloudy yellow-orange body, thin off-white head. Piney, grapefruit rind aroma, a bit caramely. Very sharp caramely body, some fruits, grapefruit rind, and pine. Maybe a tad floral. Medium-bodied. Decent beer.

A brown-black beer with a brown head. The aroma is primarily of chocolate, but also with hints of coffee. The flavor contains notes of roasted malt, lots of chocolate on a dry background. A nice porter.

2004 draught @ Redbones. Very light, but not completely clear, gold. Small foamy white head, mostly disipating. Smells light and floral, rosewater comes to mind. Light airy angel food cake, plenty of soft fluffy hops notes and a touch of light malts. Flavor is crisp and hoppy, but not terribly bitter. Good floral notes, light body. Tastes like lavendar and rose petals steeped in mineral water and then mixed with pilsener malts and herbal-tasting hops. Very refreshing. Quick finish, moderate carbonation. Isn’t this a blonde/golden ale?? Certainly dosent seem like an ESB.

Bottle Pours a medium amber with a thick long lasting sandy head. Lots of hops in the aroma, a bit dark and woody. Flavor is srtrong hops at first then after a moment a bold malty wood flavor takes over. Lots of full body flavor and a nice risc feel. Moderate carbonation and a crisp bitter finish.

Bottled. Nut brown. Sweet up front with big crystal malt flavour. Clean, fairly hard mouthfeel, a vague note of red berries. Low hop rate. It seems American oktoberfests are like most American Hefeweizens. They claim to be something they are not.
