A hazy deep red beer with a nice light brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of berries and spices as well as hints of alcohol. The flavor is pretty sweet with notes of caramel and berries, leading to a dry woody end.

A beer somewhere between orange and amber in color with a beige head. The aroma is strong of black currant and is quite sweet. The flavor is malty, slightly sour and with loads of black currant, and maybe some notes of wood. The end is sweet, somewhat alcohol, and dry. The mouthfeel is very smooth.

An unclear orange beer with a disappearing head. The aroma is of yeast, rosehips, and oranges and is quite sweet. The flavor is very powerful yeasty and spicy.

An orange beer with a fine white head. The aroma is very yeasty for a pilsener - as if it has been topfermented, but quite pleasant. The flavor is a boring malt flavor, but with an OK bitterness. The body is thin.

Dark amber color. Strange aroma: malt, caramel, sweet, some phenol, sea water. Quite good, balanced, with some sweetness, caramel, liquorice… A light, undefined, original note.

Very dark, nearly opaque brown; brown-yellow head, fed by good carbonation. Nose of dark woodberries (blueberry, bramble,...); quite some dark malt. A bit perfumed-soapy, maybe a hint of tobacco. There is some dark malt discernible, but the initial taste is again rather fruity, even a fleeting moment sourish. Some dulled chocolate flavour, but a bit uninspired. Empty mouthfeel - uncharacteristic and undesirable in this type of beer. The aftertaste brings renewed acidity. Certainly not a bad beer. It just doesn’t fit either style: it’s too lager-ish for a Belgian ale, and way too light for a decent winterbok. An unobtrusive, fruity drinking beer.

Hazy dull tan colour. Aroma of peach, pear and yeast. The palate is dry and yeasty, with peach and pear esters. Late alcohol kick provides leanness to the body.

Cloudy orange color, short head. some particles. Aroma is caramel malty, combination of licorice/nutmeg/ginger, some sour apricot. Soft sweet taste, slight alcoholic. Sticky palate.

(Brewed for the world famous beershop 'De Bierkoning' at A'dam) Fully opaque black-brown, with purple shine; brown, dense & fine head. Sweet, liquorice nose, "jap", but with an edge. I dare not define it, but of course my ego screams "oystersauce". Taste is not really sweet, touch of bitterness and absolutely some saltiness. But the main characteristic is a smoked flavour, aromated as from charcoal or burning wood. Retronasal it reminds me of aged beer with saccharine;.. full bodied, very slightly slick mouthfeel. Alcohol remains hidden. Original, great idea. Certainly not the world beater in its class, but the merit of its existence suffices for me.
