Description

Actually had this one twice in as 500 ml. can & both times didn’t write down enough info from the can in order to place my rating on here. This was still part of my early ticking days, pre-RB so this goes back the first 200 ratings or so. Funny thing the second time around, I had the can again with the explicit reason of rating it, figured I memorized the name well enough in order to rate this & threw away the can – turns out I was wrong. I don’t have notes anymore from that period, still figure I will just tick it now that I have found it. There is not much point of re-rating it properly this is a macro Polish lager, so you can figure out what you are in. Tried it way back with some others of it count, this one was not top but towards top. Still this isn’t much of a fine brew but if you will buy it, you will get exactly what you came for which is not bad, I suppose.

Can. Clear golden liquid with small white head. Aroma of corn, biscuit, cereal, cooked vegetables, bread and detergent. Taste is light sweet and light bitter with notes of fatty malt, corn and cooked vegetables. Light bodied with medium to high carbonation. Yuck.

Can at home in London. Pours crystal clear, bright gold with a large, sturdy, white foam head; listen, this beer looks pretty much perfect, so on appearance it’s a stunner. Nose holds lots of rich cereal, some hay, lightly toasted sugars. Medium sweet flavor, plenty of bread, suggestions of alcohol, light honey and apples, almost no bitterness, perhaps just some light hay. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Sweet finish with modest crispness, lots of bready sugars, some further honey notes, cereal, hints of corn. An interesting beer. It falls somewhere between pale lager (lower ABV pale lager, that is) and European strong lager. I certainly would not call this a straight-ahead pale lager, as it just has a bit too much kick; at the same time, it isn’t a classical European strong - it just isn’t syrupy enough, it doesn’t have any alcohol warmth. Aside from this identity crisis, it’s a fine cheap Polish lager.citrus,

Canned, 0.50l. Clear deep golden color with medium fluffy tan-like head and soft carbonation. Aroma of caramel malt, honey, dry fruits and candy sugar. Taste starts with sweet and rich malt, followed by alcohol note. Mouthfeel is really warm, but beer in general is not balanced as hops are lacking. Medium body, oily texture and soft carbonation. Artificial sweetness makes this beer worse, however it’s still drinkable...

Bottle. Pours cloudy with quickly disappearing white head. Pale yellow colour. Strong aroma of citrus. Tastes like lemonade. A good refresher, but hardly a beer. But then, does it really matter?
