330ml bottle, batch 44, from Vinmonopolet Langnes Tromsø. Fair amount of fawn-coloured head to a near clear amber coloured body with a dark red shade. Spotty lacework. Mid-sweet malts on the nose, hints of nuts, herbs and bread. A bit restrained taste profile of dried fruits, earthy malts, almond and liquorice. Ends with a nice little tartness of berries. Medium bodied. Soft in the mouth. Quite nice Christmas beer, on the right track. Should be even better next year (at home 23.12.2013).

Bottle at home. Has a hazy dark amber colour wit a big, light beige head that diminish fast. Malty aroma with dried fruit, wood, leather, rye bread, nuts and fruity hops. The flavour is similar, but is lighter. Slick and rich mouth feel, and has a light bitterness. And okay ale but the flavour is a bit lighter than expected. Well-balanced.

Bottle at home. Pours a hazy dark orange colour with a medium light beige colour. Aroma of dried fruit, berries, caramel, roasted almonds with sugar, leather and oak. More dried fruit and berries in the flavour. Silky mouth feel, and has a light bitterness. An interesting and sweet ale with a berry touch. Nice.

33cl bottle from Vinmonopolet, Storo. Pours hazy mahogany without any head. Moderate spicy aroma with dark dried fruits, dark malt, vinous notes and hints of alcohol. Sweet with quite nice and Christmassy spicy flavours, especially cinnamon. Some bitterness in the finish. Medium body and hardly any traces of carbonation. Over the top for my taste, but quite Christmassy and a nice winter warmer. Also a bit too sweet and some carbonation would have been nice. Vinous and fairly pleasant, but not quite my kind of beer.

No head, just some bubbles. Aroma is slightly sweet, dark malts, very ripe banana, grass, caramel, chocolate, dark dried fruits. Taste is very sweet, sugar, even more sugar, dark malts, banana, grass, almond essence, yeast. Little bitterness. Not my thing!

Draught, 250ml nicely served in a tulip shaped glass at Amundsen Bryggeri og Spiseri. Low, beige head to a deep, rosewood coloured body. Dark malts and dark fruits on the nose. Chocolate malt and cinnamon flavours linked with star anise. Roasted malt-fruity tail with noticeable alcohol. Medium bodied. Nice without lasting impressions (Oslo 12.12.2013).
