Consumed as Waitrose English Vintage Cider. Pale gold/straw colour, some spotted white top. Aroma of white sugars, tart apples and peel. Its slick, somewhat tangy with apple juice but becomes more mellow . Bittersweet finish, a very mild hint of oak, slight warming alcohol going down. Not particularly complex in flavours but decent enough.

Hand pull at Little Owl near NEC, Birmingham. Clear pale straw colour, no head. Mellow pulp like apple cider but still has a leather and woody note to it. Slick Medium bodied, still. Good.

Bottle from Melbicks Garden Centre, Coleshill. I didn't realise it was Westons. Its made for Alex James but not clear from the bottle who bloody made it. Like a secret valentine...*sick emoji*. Pretty decent cider though. Somewhat sessionable in character although borderline at 5.5%. You want to avoid Scrumpy Jack territory in my experience! Look: clear gold, some brief fizz, standard. Aroma: classic Westons but decent wood and apple skin come through. Taste: sweet and tangy apple juice and core, bittersweet notes, medium dry Palate: light to medium bodied, light oily, a touch drying.

1 litre bottle (from keg). Look - slightly cloudy dark gold. Nose - tart apples, cinnamon, cloves, citrus. Taste - very sweet, medium tart apples, spice comes through but doesn't overpower the apples. Nice zesty citrus peel at the end. Palate - light to oily but quite smooth. Decent.

330ml can. Clear gold, brief white bubbly head, quite a lot of carbonation. Aroma is a little subdued but has sweet apples with slight funk. Taste is sweet and tart apples with a slight dry bitter tanginess in the finish. Oily body and high carbonation. Not sold on this one, but its fine.

500ml can. Clear pink, brief small fizzy head. Aroma of mixed berries with a slight dry apple undercurrent. Taste is very sweet, berry flavouring to the forefront. Not much apple in the taste except for a dryness in the finish. Over syrupy mouthfeel. A bit artificial like an alco-pop but not awful.

500ml bottle. Clear dark gold, small fizzy white head. Aroma of apple, caramel, a touch of moonshine. Taste has a watery yet tangy apple, caramel. Moderate body, oily mouthfeel. Quite nice, a little basic.
