Pours dark amber with a huge white head. Aroma of pine resin. Taste has a similar profile of hops. Palate has resin that lingers on the tongue, watery malt elements. Eh.

Bottle shared by Kelly and Paul, thanks for the opportunity! Slightly hazy deep copper color. Rich bready caramel maltiness with light chocolate and a slightly annoying clove character especially in the finish. Decent beer.

Bottle split at Islo tasting, big thanks to LKS, 07/07/16. Rich mahogany brown with a decent tan cap. Nose is chocolate, spice, toffee, earthy dark fruit rinds. Taste comprises sweet maltings, spice, chocolate biscuit, lightly roasted tones, toffee fudge. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent enough easy drinking impy.

Taster pour at Craft Beer Race New Haven. Appearance is caramel brown with small head and lacing, cloudy. Floating sediment chunks. Aroma is caramel malt over a bit unfinished like wort. Taste is caramel, also a bit unfinished. Palate is full bodied with thick texture, soft carbonation, more sweet than bitter finish. Overall, more malty than hoppy but a yeasty, unfinished (wort-like) quality dominates.

Big Bottle share at Craft Islington. Thanks to Leighton. Opaque dark brown beer, good tan head. Palate is airy and fairly dry. Reasonable fine carbonation. Mellow dark chocolate malts, trace of cream. Little bourbon biscuit. An odd floral thing going on. Dry dark chocolate finish. A mixed bag.

Bottle shared at Craft Beer Co. Islington. Picked up in CT. Pours black-brown with a strong, tan foam head. Good roast in the nose, milk chocolate, dried fruits. Medium sweet flavour with charry roast, ash, dried berries, bittersweet chocolate. Full bodied with lively carbonation and massaging texture. Lightly warming to conclude, with some burnt marshmallow, earthy hops, more chocolate. Good stuff. Nice depth, high drinkability. Solid.

Bottle at Craft Islington, thanks to Leighton. It pours jet black with a thick tan head. The aroma is rich, sweet, chocolate cake, milky coffee, vanilla, doughnuts and toffee. The taste is smooth, rich roasted malts, mild acidity, tangy dark fruits, candy, sweet chocolate, treacle and some alcohol with a cocoa finish. Medium+ body and moderate carbonation. Plenty of chocolate going on. Rather nice.
