(Can) Pours clear bright red with no head. Pleasant aroma of plums with notes of candy. Light body with bright carbonation. Pleasantly sour, with plenty of plum, and notes of dough in the finish. Very pleasant and refreshing.

(Can - this is 4.5% and batch 003.2-1) Pours cloudy amber with good white head. Aroma of passionfruit, and I am sure I can smell notes of saltiness (although is that possible?) Medium body with a fruit juice smoothness and fine carbonation. Great taste with good balance. There is a nice amount of tartness, plenty of passionfruit and a subtle but interesting saltiness. Very enjoyable.

(Can) Pours hazy golden with good white head. Pleasant aroma with citrus, pine and pepper. Full bodied with plenty of soft carbonation. Good taste with hops dominant although modest bitterness. There’s some nice complex fruitiness- fruit salad - with some peppery spice. Very enjoyable.

(Can) Pours clear reddish amber with small tan head. Intense complex smokey aroma. Smoked meat and wood. Full thick sticky body with fine bright carbonation. Intense flavour. Again smokiness is dominant. Smoked meat and wood. There’s umami too. Some toffee sweetness trying to make an appearance around the mid palate, along with some raisin fruitiness. The alcohol is also present but is also dominated by the smoke. An extraordinary beer. It definitely showcases smokiness. On the one hand the complexity in the smokiness is intriguing, on the other hand if the intensity were dialed back a little it would be more enjoyable.

(Can - an Imperial Scotch Ale) Pours black with short lived loose tan head. Nice aroma with notes of dark toffee, candy, peat, pear drops, chocolate. Full bodied, smooth, sticky with fine prickly carbonation. Rich complex taste. There’s a dark toffee sweetness as a backbone to the flavour. There’s some burnt sugar bitter notes. There’s peaty whisky. There’s some fruity pear and raisin notes at the start. There’s some sweet milk chocolate notes in the mid palate. The alcohol is apparent but pretty well hidden for 14%. Not sure what heather tastes like so maybe I am not recognising it. Very well balanced and enjoyable.

From a 375ml can on 29/11/2023 (Abv listed as 4.9%). Pours a darkish amber with no head to speak of. Has a strong caramel toffee nose with hints of fruit. Tastes of caramel, toffee and peanut butter. Salty more than sour, finishing with a modest bitterness. Lightly syrupy with moderate carbonation. Very similar to its imperial big brother, with the intensity dialed down just a bit. Incredibly intense and impressive for a beer that weighs in at less than 5%. A sweet, salty, nutty delight.

(Can) Pours black with small tan head. Awesome aroma of dark toffee and chocolate with notes of mint. Full bodied, smooth, creamy, slightly sticky with very fine bright carbonation. Great taste too. It’s sweet with plenty of toffee flavour. There’s really nicely balanced mint giving a refreshing offset. I have always found mint and beer a very poor mix but this works extremely well. There’s chocolate too and I nice gentle boozy undercurrent. Very enjoyable.
