Bottle at Level 42 tasting, thanks to Willis, 11/07/16. Light black to rich mahogany brown with a decent khaki cap that dissipates to a swirl. Nose is earthy roast, spice, cocoa powder, fruit cake, earthy fruit rinds, liquorice. Taste comprises cocoa nibs, spice, light roast, charr, dark chocolate, earthy notes. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a touch of boost. Ok but no great for the style.

Bottle thanks to Dave. It pours near black with a small beige head. The aroma is rich roasted malts, cookie dough, chocolate, earthy roast, treacle and fruit cake. The taste is smooth, rich roasted malts, charred wood, bitter orange, cocoa, spice, cookie, mild astringency and coffee grounds with a lingering warming finish. Full body and fine carbonation. Decent.
