Got in a BIF from KMitch. 12 ounce can into tulip glass, no can dating. Pours moderately hazy golden amber/light orange color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with awesome retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, red apple, mango, melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, light honey, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, red apple, mango, melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, light honey, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, red apple, mango, melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, light honey, and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness and spicy alcohol. Medium-plus carbonation and medium-full body; with a smooth, creamy/bready/sticky, fairly resinous/rindy, and lightly slick balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Light-moderate increasing warmth of 10%, with mild booze lingering after the finish. Overall this is an excellent DIPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to sip on for the big ABV with the modestly bitter/resinous/drying finish. Not overly aggressive. Nice and pretty unique Azacca, Lemon Zest, Apollo, Wakatu profile. Very juicy, dank, and earthy balanced hop complexity; sizable pale/wheat malt backbone, but not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. A very enjoyable offering, and well made style example. No complaints other than the warming/boozy finish.
