On tap at Orpheus, pours a deep dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma brings pours wild yeast, oak barrels and tart berries. Flavour is complex, with a deep berry character, oak barrels and wild yeast. Loads of depth to this, with a lovely wine barrel finish. Excellent.

On tap at Orpheus, pours an opaque dark red with a tiny white head. Aroma is quite subdued, with gentle barrels and muted tart cherries. Flavour is complex, with a nice expression on the rye whiskey barrels, atop potent tart cherries and light wild character. Really nice cohesion from the cherries and barrels. Excellent.

On tap at Orpheus, pours a deep dark red with a small white head. Aroma expresses the cherries really well, with subdued oak barrels. Flavour is like drinking gently tart cherry juice, with some oak and a lot wildness. Great cherry character despite the monolithic character of the beer. Very good.

On tap at Orpheus, pours a hazy yellowish blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out fresh blueberry, with a bit of sweetness. Flavour is sweet and sour, with intense, tart blueberries, and a bit of lacto. Nice stuff.

On tap at Orpheus, pours a hazy yellowish blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out tart pineapple, some musty fruit skins, and light wild character. Flavour is very pineapple forward, with little else. Musty and dry. Gentle beer that is easy-drinking.

On tap at Orpheus, pours a cloudy golden orange with almost no head. Aroma brings out the white wine barrels upfront, with medium acidity. Flavour has lots of acetone, with white wine barrels, plenty of acidity, and fuzzy fruit skins. Not exactly refined and lacking much depth. Okay.

On tap at Orpheus, pours a cloudy pinkish red with a small white head. Aroma brings out tart and lightly sweet cherries, with a touch of funk. Flavour nicely expresses the balaton cherries, with light saison yeast and gentle tartness. Really nice use of the cherries. Good stuff.

On tap at Orpheus, pours a hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma is dominated by plum juice and perfumey notes. Flavour is more dominated by the plums than the perfume, with medium acidity. Little complexity and depth. Not great.

On tap at Orpheus, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma is loaded with intensely acidic plums, with white wine barrels and oakiness. Flavour is highly perfumey, with white wine barrels and acidic plums. Intensely perfumey, like walking into a cosmetics department. Not convincing.

Atalanta Tart Plum Saison from Orpheus Brewing

On tap at Orpheus, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out gentle tart plums and subdued saison yeast. Flavour is quite mellow, with gentle plums, fairly restrained tartness, and a bit of a farmhouse character. Clean and nicely balanced, with a high drinkability. Good stuff.
