330ml bottle from Aldi. Clear but very dark red beer, decent head quickly disappears and becomes thin and filmy. Smells of malt, tangy fruit and honey. The flavour is exactly what you'd expect from that, though the malt is less earthy than I thought it would be from the smell of it. It does linger a bit into the aftertaste along with some sharp fruit. The honey gives this a nice, smooth taste but it's a bit watery which undercuts it slightly. Not bad though.

Bottle from the Guildford Arms. Appearance - orange with some wee floaters. Nose - honey and rose for sure. Something resembling greengage. Pears too. Taste - deep honey and hint of rosewater again. More pears. Palate - rich and full bodied. Tangy sweet through the finish. Overall - good.

Bottle from Aldi’s shared at Leighton’s. It pours clear gold with a small white head. The aroma is paper, cardboard, cracker, mashed potato, grainy and a hint of of sweetness. The taste is bitter - sweet, tangy, generic fruity, honey, melon, something slightly artificial with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. A bit shit really. Not for 21st century palates.

Bottle shared at Leightons place, 29/12/2016. A pale golden coloured pour with a a fine white head. Aroma is papery, stale grains, little honey and caramel, drain cleaner. Flavour is composed of tangy, pale grains. Oxidised, little chemical tang. Palate is semi sweet. Light, thin, moderate carbonation. Little faint honey.

Bottle shared in London - thanks to Fergus. Pours totally clear gold with a thin, creamy white head. The nose has pale grains, vague honey - perhaps. Light sweet flavour with a strange smokey note, some gooey white bread. Light bodied with average carbonation. Weird finish, more smokey notes, white bread, grains, mild floral notes. Not excellent.

330ml bottle at the Guildford. Pours light hazy golden with a short lived white head. Aromas of light honey, white sugar. Taste has some lemon to cut through the honey. Sweet finish though.

Bottle at Craig’s. It pours clear deep red-brown with a small white head. The nose is earthy, toasted grain, slight sweetness and some fruit cake. The taste is soft, sweet, chewy, fruit cake, brown bread, honey, mild sweetens and a touch of acidity. Light – medium body and fine carbonation. Not a whole lot of depth to it and it feels a touch thin. Run of the mill.
