Why Neckstamper? - Not a literal meaning - but looking to London’s rich brewing history. Neck-stamper was the slang term given to the pot boy at an ale-house in the 1700s. The neck-stamper’s job was to collect the empty bottles or tankards previously sent out to private homes - “stamping” around the streets with the empties strung around his “neck”. Takeaway beer in the 1700s.

Keg at BD Waterloo, 20/10/22. Clear golden topped with a well presented just off white cap. Nose is bitter orange, pine needle, old skool aromas, soft malts. Taste comprises grapefruit, pine needle, grass, melon, bitter orange. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spiked with lightly resinous hop bitterness. Okay old skool offering.

Freebie at Ascot Tap because the keg ran out before the third was complete. Aroma combines resinous bitterness with punchy stone fruit and chewy figs. Hazy brown. Thin creamy white head. Resinous but not overly bitter because its tempered by a sugary canned fruit syrup streak. St9ne fruit. Citrus. Underlying malts. Thick bodied. Oily. Flat-average carbonation. Long astringent finish. Warming DIPA - feels like it had Strong Ale or ESB elements to it rather than being a Hazy DIPA.
Strong, full, lots of body, punchy, piney. Drinks well, even though the high ABV.
