Can: Cloudy, orange/amber with a smooth, off-white head. Aroma of nutmeg, cinnamon. Taste is orange malt, nutmeg, ginger, biscuit. Increasing ginger bittering.... Ok for a holiday novelty, but not much else to it.

12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 12/11/2018. Pours fairly hazy very dark ruby red/brown color with a 1 finger fairly dense and rocky light khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big lightly tart/tangy cherries, fruit skin/pits, raisin, plum, prune, fig, date, peach, pear, apricot, red apple, red grape, honey, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, bourbon, toasted oak, and brown bread; with light notes of banana, bubblegum, peppercorn, clove, vanilla, coconut, cocoa, nuts, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast/oak/toasted earthiness. Touch of booze in the aromas as it warms, but not overwhelming. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of cherries, honey/candi sugar, fruity/light spicy yeast, dark/bready/light roasted malt, and bourbon barrel notes; with great strength. Taste of big lightly tart/tangy cherries, fruit skin/pits, raisin, plum, prune, fig, date, peach, pear, apricot, red apple, red grape, honey, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, bourbon, toasted oak, and brown bread; with light notes of banana, bubblegum, peppercorn, clove, vanilla, coconut, cocoa, nuts, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast/oak/toasted earthiness. Mild herbal, floral, grassy, roast bitterness; and yeast, bourbon, oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Minimal fruit tang/tartness. Lingering notes of cherries, fruit skin/pits, dark fruit, peach, pear, apricot, red apple, red grape, honey, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, bourbon, toasted oak, brown bread, light banana/pepper/clove, vanilla, cocoa, nuts, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast/oak/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of cherries, honey/candi sugar, fruity/light spicy yeast, dark/bready/light roasted malt, and bourbon barrel flavors; with a solid malt/bitter/spiciness balance, and no cloying sweetness after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness and yeast/oak spiciness. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready, and lightly sticky/chalky/tangy/tannic mouthfeel that is fantastic. Mild increasing warmth of 10.2%, with no barrel booziness lingering after the finish. Overall this is a fantastic BBA Belgian strong dark ale. All around outstanding complexity, robustness, and balance of cherries, honey/candi sugar, fruity/light spicy yeast, dark/bready/light roasted malt, and bourbon barrel flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the big ABV, with the mildly bitter/spicy/drying finish. Very well attenuated and not overly sweet for the ABV. Amazing balance of juicy cherries, Belgian yeast, and rich malt/sugar complexity; with great bourbon barrel presence/integration, and just enough earthy hops against sweetness. A highly enjoyable offering, and outstanding style example as expected.

Pours slightly hazy medium golden yellow color with a 1 finger fairly dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, mango, watermelon, berry, citrus peel/zest, light coconut/peppercorn, pine, cracker, toasted bread, light honey, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. A bit malty/muddy, but not overwhelming. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/earthy hops, tangerine zest, and moderate bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of big tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, mango, watermelon, berry, citrus peel/zest, light coconut/peppercorn, pine, cracker, toasted bread, light honey, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, mango, watermelon, berry, citrus peel/rind, coconut, peppercorn, pine, cracker, toasted bread, light honey, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/earthy hops, tangerine zest, and moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy/sticky, fairly crisp, and lightly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.7%. Overall this is a very nice session IPA. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/earthy hops, tangerine zest, and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth, refreshing, and fairly crisp to drink; with the mellowly bitter/resinous/drying finish, not aggressive. Very flavorful and not watery for the ABV. Cashmere showcase; with added Galena, El Dorado, and Centennial. Great juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hop/zest complexity; with a great bready pale/Munich malt backbone for the low ABV. Minimal residual sweetness from lingering dryness. A very enjoyable offering, and well made session style example as expected.

Tap at Randolph, Williamsburgh. Colour is cloudy golden with small white head. Aromas and flavours: Some pine, fruits, hops and malts. Very good DIPA with full body.

Sampled on draft at Urban Tap this beer poured a murky peach-tan color with a medium sized creamy white head that left excellent lacing. The aroma was sweet and fruity with notes of pineapple, yeast and cream. The flavor was earthy with fruity hops, vanilla cream and sweet pineapple.Medium length finish. Moderately full bodied and very smooth.

Sampled on draft at Tapped this beer poured a dark amber color with a medium sized foamy off white head that left very good lacing. The aroma was sweet, tangy and fruity. The flavor was tangy fruity hops with an earthy undertone. Medium length finish. Moderately full bodied.

This can is sweet and; sweet it is. Big heavy sweet milk and sweet dark chocolate blast. It has an amazing head BTW! Almost a 5 for looks but not quite there in appearance. Rolling display in a clear glass Big and black, nicely big. Smells like a malted shake. Big sweet blast int he face, kick ass sweet stout, like a dark bittersweet baker's chocolate mess. Sweet, trying to get nasty, but never quite gits thar. Yes, caramel lurking in the background, just coming out for a sucker punch periodically. Smooth easy stout for a beer 1st timer.

Sample at the Columbus taproom during the Can Taproom Release: Sunrise at Dusk event on 10/20/2018. Clear orange-copper color with a medium white head that diminishes quickly to an outer ring. Strings of lace. Aroma of citrus, hops and malt. Medium body with flavors of earthy hops, citrus and biscuit malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a citrusy hop aftertaste. Decent overall.

Sample at the Columbus taproom during the Can Taproom Release: Sunrise at Dusk event on 10/20/2018. Brown-black color with a medium tan head that recedes steadily to a wispy film. Small patches of lacing. Aroma of chocolate, malt and coffee. Medium body with flavors of chocolate malt, salted caramel and coffee. The finish is salted caramel mocha. Pretty good overall.
