Cask, half pint served at ambient temperature at The Continental, Preston. Copper-golden with light haziness and nice laceworks on the glass. Aroma of grassy hops. Plain and rather sharp hoppy flavour with a definite bitterness to the ending. Medium bodied. Alright, but a bit one dimensional (03.05.2009).

Bottled. A hazy golden beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of ginger and spices. The flavor is sweet and mainly with notes of ginger, leading to a dry ginger finish. The body is very thin, due to a low level of residual sugar.

Cask at the Flowerpot, Derby. A really enjoyable pint. Amber with a thin white head; aromas of leafy hops and apricot; citrus and tropical fruit falvours, but overcome by a immediate sharp quinine bitter edge; this faded eventually becoming rounder and slightly sweeter, with the fruits beginning to be more prominent, but still leaving a very bitter finish. One to sip and savour.

Bottle, thx to fonefan. As Organic Tawny no. 3, 5.7% ABV. It pours a clear golden body with some microfloaties and an off-white to beige head. Malty and sweetish aroma with dried fruits and some beef-stock notes. Nice citrusy hops too. Sweet in the mouth, with some beefstock and a good citrusy hoppyness and nice bitterness. Medium to full body with a piney and citrusy finish. A well-tasting beer with a nice hop-profile. (080824)
