A taster shared with Josh, Matt, Phill, and Ryan during FHF with priceless Rachel's (yup, again!) help in organizing all the mess with glasses. Appearance: a bit hazy golden with a white head. Aroma: weird wood and some herbal notes. Taste: same, very bready as well. Overall: nah.

Sampled from the tap at Lama Dog. Pours black with a brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has lots of rye whiskey and sweet dark grains with a string dark roast backbone. Flavor combines sweet dark grains and rye whiskey with a bit of toffee supporting.

Tap at Cap Hop. Pours translucent brown with a beige head. Aroma is tart/woody. No oak astringency discernible. Med plus body. Tastes like a brown ale from Italy - one of those chestnut beers. Pretty dry. Bitter enough. Woody, but not musty or oaky. There is a light tartness. Rather different, but really nice. Interesting accomplishment. Sadly I must predict it will be under appreciated and correspondingly unfairly rated. :(

Tap at Cap Hop. Pours hazy orangey gold with a white head. Hoppy/woody aroma. Med body at least. Flavor is woody, hoppy, somewhat malty. Dry tho. Impressive BA lager. Wood renders it very tasty indeed.

Draft. Amber beer with a cream head. Spice and herbal aroma. Herbal and malt flavor with light citrus and light cocoa. Medium bodied. Herbal and citrus linger with light malt.

Tap at Cap Hop. Pours hazy gold with a creamy/bubbly white head. Aroma of yeast, white berry and pale stone fruits. Making me think of Fruits des Bois ales. Med body or so. Flavor is white berry, wood, light spice, maybe a slight touch of citrus. Very Belgian (or NE France?). Crisp. Clean. Light. Refreshing. Tasty.
