Description
The company was founded by Alastair Hook in 1999. He started the brewery in a small lock-up on an industrial estate, before moving to the Greenwich Brewery, and then to a site on nearby Blackwall Lane in 2010. It was purchased by SABMiller in May 2015. As part of the agreements made with regulators before Anheuser-Busch InBev was allowed to acquire SABMiller in 2016, Meantime was sold to Asahi Breweries of Japan in October 2016. Brewing moved to Fuller's in May 2024.

Cloudy blond color. Some aroma of plastic, wheat, spices, light vinegar. Very ordinary taste, some malt, light sweetness and spices, quite well mixed but still far from being exceptional.

Black color; creamy head. Aroma of chocolate, like opening a box of chocolates (i.e. with a very ligth vanilla). Medium body structure, quite soft in the beginning but too much metallic at the end; good mix of malt and roasted malt; the taste doesn’t really show much chocolate. Quite strong bitterness. Pleasant.

A hazy yellow beer with a huge white head. The aroma is sweet wheaty and spicy, while the flavor besides being sweet and wheaty only has hints of a spicyness, where coriander stands out. The end is dry and wheaty.

This beer has small particle of sediment floating around in an amber colored liquid and with an off-white crown. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel as well as light notes of grass and hay. The flavor is sweet malty with a dusty hop presence and light notes of grapefruit and coriander. I makes a slight Belgian impression on me with the notes of coriander.

A yellow beer with a thin white head. The aroma is dusty hoppy - reminds me a lot of a Czech pilsener. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of straw, and the mouthfeel is a bit sticky. A very standard pilsener.
