Bottle. Clear pale colour. White long lasting head. Slightly grassy aroma. Flavour is a little sweet and malty. Grassy hints too and a slightly bitterness. Pretty good for a british pilsener.

Could have sworn I rated this one already, but I obviously forgot. 2005 750mL bottle graciously given to me by Duff, shared with OldGrowth in October 2005.
Served quite cold to start (too cold) but allowing to warm provided a wide range of flavors. It pours a deep inky black to deep mahogany brown with just a pinch of deep chartreuse. Head is large, foamy and well-retained, tan in color and provides light lacing. The little filtration provides plenty of chunky sediment in the glass even towards the top of the settled bottle. Aroma of light molasses/brown sugar, rich coffee roast, vanilla, dark chocolate and plenty of strong yeast (dusty and rather dry). Flavor begins with a light oily roast, plenty of biscuity nuttiness and simple cocoa notes. It develops a refined, subtle vanilla and toffee as it warms and finishes, building on the palate pleasantly. Chocolate chip cookies are not unthinkable to compare it to. A touch of oily roast sticks to the palate providing most of the dryness and light bitterness. Vinous, dark fruits, while apparent are not overly so, certainly not as much as I was expecting. Yeast is fresh, though rather bland and nutty. Body is medium, never getting terribly sweet, but certainly not undermalted for the style. No alcohol apparent. Don’t find any hop flavors either, but perhaps I did not look hard enough. The carbonation is very low, light, medium-sized bubbles burst loosely and lightly and the texture is a bit thinned out, like it has been aged a year (though it hasnt). Though again, the light looseness is certainly to style and nothing to complain about. Very well-executed on all accounts.

Black colour with brown head. Aroma of chocolate and hints of vanilla. Lots of chocolate in the flavour, but also hints of vanilla an cocoa. A very nice chocolate beer.

Couler is dark brown. Small brown head. Lots of coffee in the aroma. Flavour of coffee but also some vanilla tones. Nice coffee tones in the aftertaste also chocolate in the aftertaste.

Bottle. Hazy golden colour. Medium thick white head. Aroma of bananas and hints of wheat. Flavour is malty and bananas, but also hints of citrus and grass. Leaving you with a little sweet yeasty aftertaste. Pretty good and i like the bottle.

(Bottle 33 cl) Pilsener golden with a small head. Fresh, gingery nose and very marked flavours of ginger and perhaps also ginseng (not sure I recall the flavour of ginseng....) But very refreshing and mild, pretty much without bitterness. 140701

33cl bottle from Utobeer. I might have had a duff bottle of this after reading the other ratings. Hazy orange lasting thin white head. Slightly farty aroma, some hop. NOt very pleasant aroma. Bit thin in mouth. GOod biting dry hop finish with taste of cascades coming through. Finish is ok but is let down by the rest of the beer

Keg at Brew Wharf, Borough. Golden beer with thickish white head. Yeasty aroma, some citrus and loemon. Creamy in mouth with more yeast on end. Refreshing and pleasant if not widely exciting

Bottled. Hazy golden. Rich estery banana aroma. Sweet and maltier tha most hefeweizens with somewhat bold malt character and little bit of grassy bitterness. Heavily carbonated. Flavourwise it’s a schoolbook example of hefeweizen, but the mouthfeel is more unique.
