Description
Brew Age is a young and innovative company taking old brewing traditions and developing them further. The newly created beers and beer styles are then to offer new impressions and flavours to the beer expert and the beer newbie alike.
We went through various scenarios in our heads: our own brewery vs. gypsy brewing, establishing a brand and, most importantly, developing recipes. Finally we settled on the concept of gypsy brewing. Following an intense search for a partner brewery, we finally managed to start our cooperation with Reinhold Barta at Brauhaus Gusswerk. Today, we still brew our beers at Gusswerk, and in a way you can call us sedentary gypsy brewers: in contrast to classic gypsy brewers, who produce their beer (or have it produced) at various breweries, we brew our beers almost exclusively at Gusswerk, strictly according to our own specifications. For the near future, we are planning to build our own brewery in Vienna.

very good dark malt character. The mouth shows good hop character, but roastiness is fantastic. I love the malt in this beer. Moderately aggressive hoppy finish. Fantastic

Bottle. Really assertive hoppy aroma, fruity, orange, grapefruit, resiny. Clean and inviting. Clear deep orange colour. Taste is... wow so hoppy. High bitterness, lots of hops flavour, citrusy, resiny, grassy. Although entirely hops-centered, not overpowering, but nicely balanced. Long dry hoppy finish that leaves you wanting more.

330 ml, bottled 26.03.15, acquired by Werckmeister at Beer Store Vienna. Thanks Stefan!
Dark amber, clear body, with a big, creamy, lacing, off-white head.
Aroma of grapefruit, orange, stone fruits, passion fruit, mango, resin, biscuit.
Tastes of bitter grapefruit, resin, grass, some tropical fruits, some stone fruits, biscuit, honey, booze.
Medium, quite creamy mouthfeel, with a quite lively carbonation.
Finishes bitter, boozy, zesty, grassy, piney, malty, with a quite long-lasting alcohol warmth.
Very good. The nose is really lovely, with lots of fruits, while the taste is a bit too heavy and alcoholic for my taste. Overall still one of the best DIPAs from Austria I’ve had.

Bottle @ Van Moll Brewpub shared with Erwin Van Moll. Hazy a bit rusty orange color, average sized white head. Not a lot of aroma. Taste is pretty faint as well. Hard to detect anything other than malts and a slight sweet-bitter with a touch of caramel. Meh.
