Can from Yutaka, London. It pours deep reddish - amber with a decent off-white head. The aroma is sappy, oily, sticky toffee, piney, spruce, leafy, brown bread, raisin and sticky marmalade. The taste is firmly dry, bitter, oily, sappy, resinous, green, leafy, pine needles, varnished wood, peppery spice, toffee, brown bread and some booze with a resinous finish. Medium body and average carbonation. Old school west coaster IPA. Sits pretty heavy on the palate, but has good boost level. Fair.

Can from Yutaka, London. It pours darkest brown to black with a small khaki head. The aroma is dark roasted malt, bitter - sweet, umami, cooking chocolate, pipe tobacco, molasses and a touch of coffee. The taste is crispy, dry, snappy, earthy roast, malt loaf, molasses, umami, plain chocolate, coffee grounds, toothy malt and savoury vibes with a toasty finish. Average body and fine, prickly carbonation. A decent savoury black ale.

(Can) Pours clear amber with white head. Aroma is grain with fruity and pepper notes and rather odd rubbery hints. Medium body with lively carbonation. Taste is a bit odd. There’s plenty of peppery bitterness and some plum notes. Not great.

(Can) Pours black with small tan head. Nice aroma of roast grains. Medium body with good carbonation. Taste has a nice balance of tartness and dark roast bitterness. Very drinkable.

(Can) Pours clear golden with tiny white head. Aroma of grain, brown bread, pepper. Light body with reasonable carbonation. Taste is a bit thin. It is grainy with some peppery bitterness. It is ok.

Sunset Mart: pours blackish with beige head. Molasses and diner coffee aroma. Perfextly drinkable. Kind of sweet.

Crystal clear gold with no head really and a floral fruity grainy aroma. It has a medium body and a grainy fruity flavor with a bit of an earthy finish and somewhat slick mouthfeel. Apparently limited to western Japan and bought in a 7/11 on the station platform in Kanazawa. Not bad.
