Bottle. Dark brown, almost black. Giant, tan head. Aroma is overwhelmingly coffe with some notes of burnt toast and burnt grass. The taste is really way too bitter for me. I guess with all the hops and coffee I should have expected that. It wasn’t really all that bad just a tad too bitter.

Bottle. Deep, dark brown almost black with a large light brown head. Aroma is roasted grains and chocolate. Taste is bitter chocolate and dark roasted grains.

Bottle. Deep, rich, dark, brown almost black. Not much head. Aroma is vanilla bourbon and a lot oak barrel. Taste was very rich and tasty. Good beer.

Can at Csaka. Pours black with beige head. Nose is lactosey-vanilla sweetness, malts and some chocolate notes. In taste it’s coffee, earthy notes, chocolate, a faint spicy touch and a warming, boozy hint. Closes with long sweetish finish, has medium body and average carbo. Pleasant, and if it was heavier and more creamy on body it would be even better.

Tap at Csakajo. Deep golden pour, thick white head. Nice dank, piney hops, but it seems to lack the malty backbone. Long bitter finish, light to medium body, average carbo.

2018 version shared at Vál. Pours black as night with a handsome brownish head. Nose is bourbon, chocolate, nuts, vanilla and booze. Taste is sweet notes of chocolate, low coffee, earthy notes, nuts and booze. Long sweet finish, medium body, soft to normal carbo. Tasty.

Can at Hopa, thanks to the BPBW crew for this one. Yellow pour, white head. Pleasant lager with a strong but not overwhelming citrusy touch that’s a nice addition to the base of the beer. Light bodied and easy to drink.

Can shared at work at a blind tasting. Deeper golden pour, white head. Nose is intense bitterness, oxidized notes, honey and tutti frutti. Taste is heavily bitter, resinous with a honey touch and some candy sweetness. Bitter finish, light to medium body, average carbonation. One dimensional and this dumb bitterness is way too much.
