Had to see whether Aslan matched up to Aslin. Pretty good on this one beer, though not quite as wonderful. Mango, papaya. Hazy yellow with green onion. Clean ending. Fruity start and a bit of sweetness in aftertaste. Tap at Taphouse in Seattle.

Hazy and pale. Earthy, mushroomy hop, thick pale. Nice dank bitterness. Soupy thin malts, but the hop character is decent.

Thin and while the hop fruitiness is nice, the malts are too light to back this up. 3 7 6 2 12

Cloudy, touch of pink from the berry, has a great nose of brett and rasp. On the palate, the hop bitterness is pronounced and the malts aren’t as clean and pale as would benefit this beer. Still, nice fruit and brett elements but doesn’t come together as well as I hoped it might. 3 8 6 3 13

Golden-amber colour, good body for a 3.3% beer. Mod bitterness, ok toasty malts. Yeast is quite clean, to the detriment. 3 6 6 3 12

Bottle sample at Aslan, pours black with a small brown head. Aroma is intense on the brett upfront, with the red wine barrels blaring through underneath, and then maybe a hit of roast and whiskey. Flavour is complex and cohesive, with loads of brett upfront, complemented by whiskey and red wine barrels. Bit of cocoa and harsh roast underneath. Unusual melding of flavours that work wonderfully. Excellent.

On tap at Aslan, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out English bready malt and gentle floral hops. Flavour is along the same lines, with gentle floral hops and bready English malt. Clean and very drinkable, and fairly authentic despite the lack of casking (which I'm fine with). Not bad.

On tap at Aslan, pours a hazy dark amber / mahogany with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out toasted malt, subdued earthy hops and a tiny hint of chalk. Flavour is a bit mineraly, with toasted malt, earthy hops, and a cereal grainy character on the finish. A bit too mineraly and lacking the cohesion I'd want from a dark IPA, but not bad overall.

On tap at Aslan, pours an opaque cloudy peachy orange with a small white head. Aroma is pretty juicy and dank, with pithy stone fruits, piney hops, and dank pot-like hops. Flavour is quite bitter, with pithy stone fruits, bitter dank hops, and crisp biscuity malt. Juicy, but this is cut down by the sharp bitterness on the finish. Solid.

On tap at Aslan, pours a cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out fresh dank hops, light floral notes and bready malt. Flavour is robust, with dank floral hops, bitter citrus rinds, and biscuity malt. Rather astringent bitterness on the finish, but it's bright enough to compensate. Solid.
