Poured from the tap. Clear gold with small white head. Cracker malt with light hopping, some off flavour here that I can’t quite put my finger on.

Can. Black body, light brown head. The nose leads with roast, and the palate has roast and chocolate. It's got a molasses sweetness and harsh roasty character. Fairly bitter. I don't really get much in terms of rum-soaked raisins. I do get a strong oak character (it's french oak). If they're using rum, it seems like a cheap one.

Pale amber, a bit hazy, and a thin head. Light fruit, has a touch of caramel. Light body, a touch of acidity, light bitterness. Seems like fermentation isn't 100% on.

Can from The Gull, North Vancouver
Black colour, medium sized, compact, beige head. Aroma of dark malt and cacao. Smooth; strong cacao character, very light fruity touch (this could be the raisins); it's very roasty, it could be more palatable with a bit of additional sugar, and also some more raisins and rum would have added more complexity. As is, though, it's still quite good.

Okay medium gold body and modest foam. Soft sweet tangerine aroma, slight pine. Flavour is soft vegetal hops, slight sweet pine. A little bit of hoppy oiliness, smooth enough, pretty okay.

16oz on Alex's deck. Appearance: dark brown with a beige head. Aroma: some roasted malts, figs, raisins, sweet, rum notes. Taste: along the same lines, quite roasty and bitter aftertaste. Overall: not bad, but mostly nothing special. This one is in line with many other bitter and roasty examples from the brewery.
