Description
Once upon a time four beer lovers came together to brew a beer… such a simple thing can start something bigger. During brewing wild plans were made, there were even some good ideas and a spark of ambition started to emerge. “Are we able to brew a decent beer?” was the question and the rest is history…

Rob de Zwaan & co. Brew their beers at Koperen Kat in Delft.

33cl Bottle from Vonk. Slightly hazy golden colour with some yeast chunks, white head. Aroma of cooked apples, bread, malts, yeast, pear. Flavour is medium sweet, malty, cooked apples, some coriander seed, yeast, more bitter than expected from a 'standard' tripel. Medium bodied. Enjoyable.

schenkt licht olie achtig in mooi helder amber met volle fijne witte kraag. aroma is flink hoppig, stro, citrus, mango, zoet, grapefruit, vers, ok. Smaken van caramel, toffee, matig zoet, matig tot redelijk hoppig, zacht en romig, degelijke IPA, harsige bitterheid, en ook redelijk wat koffie, matige body, droge afdronk.

0.33 l bottle from 'Speciaal Bier Winkel', best before December 2019. Clear, very dark brownish red with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, light beige head. Sweetish, malty, a bit roasty and slightly yeasty aroma of caramel, nuts, some chocolate and a touch of vegetables. Quite sweet, malty, a bit yeasty and slightly roasty taste of caramel, toasted nuts, quite a bit of vegetables and some chocolate, followed by a short, moderately bitter, slightly roasty and quite yeasty finish. Medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. A bit off, not very pleasant.

Bottle at home, dark orange beer, small head. Aroma is malt, caramel, hops. Taste is the same, maybe even some coffee? would say this is more a double ipa than an ipa. nice nonetheless.

Tripel from the Dutch city of Delft, shared by tderoeck. Loose, egg-white, slightly 'membranously' lacing, more or less stable head over a hazy golden blonde beer with warm peachy tinge. Aroma of unripe peaches, grass, green banana, some light chewing gum, orange peel, old white bread, coriander, mandarin, gin. Fruity, estery onset, banana and apricot, pineapple, ripe pear even, green apple acetaldehyde note, medium carbonation, smooth cereally malt body with thinly biscuity edges; lingering banana ester sweetness in the finish, some spiciness from both phenols and coriander but not over the top, grassy and herbal hop bitter touch with a light citrussy edge, 'jenever'-like warming alcohol turning a bit wry in the end. Decent enough, quite elegant, but the alcohol could have been better hidden.
