Tap at Takumiya. Hazy bright golden. Light chamomile nose, not intrusive, lemon, spicy yeast. Spicy yeast flavor, lemon, again light chamomile, bread. Dry, lightly funky, nice citrus tang. Complex, good biscuits left. Nicely done.

Tap at Takumiya. Cloudy dark brown with lace. Soicy chocolate, some citrus, interesting nose, a bit of licorice too. More licorice in the mouth, herbs, rich chocolate, nice spiciness from the wild yeast. light, dry, and bitter. Very dry. I prefer their blond saisons, but this is nice too.

From the tank at the brewery. Cloudy amber, low head. Nose of caramel malt, some of their yeasty funk, spices, minerals. Flavor is somewhat tart and spicy from the yeast, with a bit of caramel sweetness remaining. Rather highly carbonated. Nice enough, though not as impressive as the blond beers, and rather lacking in hop presence.

From the tank at Talmary. Pretty, bright golden-yellow color with a fine white head. Great citrus nose, a bit funky, creamy, grapefruit, Galaxy hop catpiss, wheat comes through nicely. Very dry, and quite tart. Crisp, light, summery. Very tasty, though maybe just a touch too dry. It is really highly attenuated by this wild yeast. Reminds me a bit of Anchorage Whiteout, although without the huge brett funk. Very nicely done wild beer that falls somewhere between a witbier, American wheat, and a saison.

Tap at the brewery. Dark brown with a thin, fine head. Nose is chocolate, light smoke, citrus, spicy yeast, minerals, touch of soy. Flavor is cocoa and rather dominated by the yeast. Smoke is there, but very light, notes of coffee. Somewhat thin body. Like a Belgian stout or a low-abv double. I like it, but their wild yeast seems to work better in blond beers to me.

Tap at the brewery. Bright pastel gold, cloudy, with a fine white head. Citrus nose, grapefruit and lemon, some cream, a bit of honey, chamomile. The herbs are not overdone at all, though. Creamy, biscuity flavor, great citrus, full, smooth body. Good tartness, light herbs, some peach and nectarine. Excellent stuff.

Tap at Kyoto Festa. Black with lace. Nose of soy, cocoa, some coffee. Flavor same, a bit thin. Decent chocolate and a bit of fruit. Not bad at all, but not as good as their other three.
