Tap at Awashima. Bit of a mystery style wise. Aroma is interesting, salsa, bit of spice, bit of booze. Taste is interesting, soft and wheaty, creamy and soft. Touch of cinnamon there, but not too much. Quite enjoyable! Like a witbier with some winter spices in it.

Talmary Pale Saison 5% Made with wild yeast and honey according to Beer Komachi's menu. It is an opaque gold with a filmy off-white head. The aroma is yeasty with a bit of spice and yet the body is light and bone dry. The taste is very bready with some honey notes, a mild banana estery edge and some light funk. It's alright but a bit more carbonic than I care for. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap at Takumiya. Made with a bread yeast or something. It’s a deep brown with a 1cm head of beige foam (keg kicked on my half-pint so I got a discount). The aroma is a bready chocolate caramel with the taste adding mild roast and nutty flavors. Simple but tasty.

Tap at Kyoto Fest 2017. Pretty, cloudy gold. Nose is grapefruit, creamy, quite tangy, some horse blanket and tropical fruit from the hops. More bready malt flavor, grapefruit, horse blanket, light funk. dry and lightly sour in a new way for them, brett in here I think. Very nice stuff, hops and yeast work so well together.

Tap at Kyoto Fest 2017. Brown-orange, hazy, with lace. Smoky nose, katsuo bushi, fishy, caramel, chocolate, ok smoke flavor, nicely sweet, caramel, not funky or sour at all. Good balance.

Tap at Bungalow. Talmary Smoke Brown 4.5%
An opaque orange amber brown with a thin film of beige foam and a smokey honeyed ham aroma. The texture is a bit scratchy on a light bodied while the taste gives toffee, some weizen-ish spice and then mild smoked ham. Alright.

Tap at Komachi. Deep golden orange, cloudy. Lemon, orange in the nose, spicy yeast, bready. Flavor is sweet and fruity, a bit heavy, spicy yeast. Nice start on this but it is a bit too heavy and sweet, and doesn’t finish as nicely as their lower abv beers. Needs to be drier.

Tap at Takumiya. Cloudy pastel golden color with lace. Very little lace, actually. Great yuzu nose, coriander, wheat. Some slight barnyard yeast spiciness too. Biscuity, malty flavor, spicy, with good yuzu. Estery too, with light bananas. A bit too sweet. Rather light in body.

Tap at Takumiya. Deep, shiny black with low tan lace. Spicy nose, licorice, chocolate, coffee, nicely spicy barnyard yeast. Like a strong black saison, kind of. As it warms, more raisin, dried fruits, and grapes come out, plus a bit of orange. Big licorice flavor, coffee, roasted malt, cocoa, plums, raisins, peppery hops and orange in the finish. Great. A cross between an imperial stout and a black saison. The wild yeast works very nicely. Body is light but not thin. Fascinating beer.

Tap at Takumi. Deep orange, cloudy, with a tall, fine head. Citrus nose, bread, peach/apricot, a bit creamy. Dry and a bit funky, bready, citrus, some Nelson for sure but not the huge pissiness I tend to associate with too much of it. Peaches and biscuits. Strong bitterness. Good. hop could be made to stand out a little more, since the name.
